I think I figured out why Silver doesn't bother me so much, even though I have heavy dislike of the Sonic Next Gen game. He reminds me a little of myself. Just a little. He's a little bit awkward, somewhat naive, and a little displaced in a world probably vastly different to his own. He's far more driven than me, but I think he has the same sort of vehement inbuilt sense of justice that I do. Also, he's fairly serious by nature, but also a little immature. I don't know, I guess I feel like I can slightly relate ^^; I think he's a decent character, and I appreciate that he's been semi-officially paired with Blaze, therefore toning down the Sonblaze rabidness that was rampant after Sonic Rush :P

Another thing growing on me a little is Silver/Blaze as a couple. I guess maybe because I see vague overtones of my OTP, Sontails, in it. Blaze considers Silver to be like a younger sibling as well as a best friend, forging an incredibly strong bond between the two of them that perhaps transcends friendship OR family. Although Blaze and Sonic aren't similar as characters at all (anyone else who calls Blaze 'the female Sonic' shall be smote! >.>), and Silver and Tails aren't that similar, I still see kind of a similar dynamic in their relationships that makes me warm slightly to Silver and Blaze, which hadn't seemed possible to me before.

So yeah, I'm sure Chase will be incredibly pleased that I'm warming to them ^^ I blame her, really :P I wouldn't have given them a chance otherwise.

Edit: I also want to address my coming-of-peace with Sonic Next Gen. I don't like the events of the game, and I don't accept them within my personal canon, but I DO appreciate the way in which it was done - the inclusion of multiple futures and, with it, the possibility of multiple timelines and even multiple realities. I don't have to accept Next Gen because it didn't happen - at least, not in MY timeline. You could say that none of it happened. You could say it ALL happened. You could even say that all possibilities have played out at once, and that it's possible to jump between them, but in the end, it's up to you to choose your final path. I can think of the Sonic fandom as being infinite in a sense. There are so many facets to it... the old-school games, the newer games, the animé, the Saturday Morning cartoons... Who's to say anyone is _wrong_? I know what I believe and the canon I follow... it's just one slice - my slice. If you picture continuity as being like a cuboid, a 3d bar, colored with a gradient from, say, white to dark blue... if you take two thin slices from the middle, they'll be incredibly similar (eg, the Next Gen timeline, identical until they split off at the point where for example Sonic dies), but if you take a slice from either end of the bar, the colors contrast much more, with far less similarity (eg, SatAM compared to Next Gen). They're both Sonicverses, so they'll have SOME similarities... but they're also very different. I'm content to think of it that way. It makes my brain hurt less.

And yes, I do think too much about this stuff :\ What can I say? Sonic is important to me.

Pfft, you're not the only one who thinks about Sonic *too much.* xD May our dork powers combine!

...YES. ANOTHER SILVER/BLAZE FAN. *excited like wh0a* And yes, Silver is cool. I like how SEGA came up with his personality, so much better then what they had originally planned to do with him.

I read somewhere (Wikipedia?) that he was originally going to be Shadow-like. That... would have been bad x.o I'm glad they didn't do that. ^^;

Well, none of the games are really "canon" anyway, I mean, you don't need to play Sonic Adventure DX to know what's going to happen in this game, not like with certain games where some things won't make any sense at all (KHII from KHI for instance)

That's true ^^ Makes it easy to exclude games like Shadow and/or Next Gen etc from your personal timeline if you want to, or link them together and keep them all in if you prefer.

Nothing wrong in liking a particular Sonic era, AoStH I'm sure you'll agree with me on will always remain true to our hearts as the best we've ever seen. I do wonder what'll happen in the future ahead for Sonic especially with the direction it's taken with adding characters so much :/

Agreed, much love for AoStH ^___^ ... I dunno what the future holds for Sonic :\ But at least we still have the past to hold onto ^^

Silver really surprised me, and I hadn't played the game yet. XDDD;;; I had a theory he was gonna be like Raven to sort of contrast Shadow, but wow... he turned out so god-darn refreshing and cute! *__________* He's such a sweetheart from what I've been listening from "Dreams of an Absolution". ♥

I know what you mean about Sonic fandom. It's just so gosh-darn versatile and you can set up the Sonic world as to however you want it. *____________* I kinda keep little different time-lines and plot bunnies myself, though usually I like integrating the older games with the new ones. It's like games such as Sonic CD and S3&K come alive again, you know? That people would recognize Shadow, Cream, Blaze, and all of them, but many more becoming nostalgic because my fanfiction doesn't forget its roots, right?

Warg. I still need to write Bean & Bark in a fic. You've made me itching to write now~ ♥

Yay! Then write! It's awesome when you write ^_^ And yes, Dreams of an Absolution is awesome. I've been listening on loop for a couple days now, and still hooked ^^;

Silvase, I think. Also heard it as Blazer. Doubt it matters though :P and yes, Sonic philosphy is fun ^_^;

Silaze please. Blazer is like Sails. It'll just get the fandom mixed up. >

I spend way too much time thinking about it too, so don't sweat it. ^^ We're all fanatics here. <3

Another thing growing on me a little is Silver/Blaze as a couple.
HEE. <3 <3 <3

So yeah, I'm sure Chase will be incredibly pleased that I'm warming to them ^^ I blame her, really :P
Aww, I feel so special and missionary-like, showing people the light and glory of Silvaze, not to mention Silver and Blaze respectively. ;P XD Yes, I am incredibly pleased if you must know. But I feel more special than anything else. ^^

What can I say? Sonic is important to me.
Don't have to say a thing. I'm with you all the way. ^_~
