First day at new job today.

Nervous doesn't even begin to describe it. I hope that they don't have us straight on phones on the first day, but that's kinda what they did at my last call-centre job so I'm not overly optimistic about my chances XD And jeez, getting up at 6.15am is PAINFUL after weeks of nice relaxed mornings getting up at 9.30 or later. My summer break is officially over ): Gotta head out the door in 45 minutes, but there's enough time for a cup of tea and some brekkie first. Oh, and updating LJ of course.

So, seeing as no one so far seems to think that a filter is necessary for my 'kin/bond-related posts, I'm gonna leave 'em public for now. Anything particularly long and/or irrelevant will go under a cut as I've already been doing. If anyone does start to get sick of it, I won't take it badly if you say so or remove me from your list. The fact that anyone at all cares to read all this stuff means the world to me as it is.

Man, I was so cold yesterday. It was a horrible sort of cold, like it had seeped right through into my bones and turned them to ice. I thought maybe I was getting sick or something, but a nice warm bath sorted that right out. Normally I can't be bothered with baths because they take so long, so I just shower instead. But it was soooo nice. I've been using the Radox that Jade sent me a while back, and it makes so many bubbles with just one cap-full, it's insane o.o But awesome XD BUBBLES. Miles likes taking long baths, lol. He'd stay in there for hours if I let him. He likes luxury. He won't touch my Mint Candy body wash though. I don't mind him taking long baths, but I wish he wouldn't have to finish by showering off with ice cold water. He says it's 'bracing', I just say it's horribly cold and undoes all the relaxation of a hot bath ;_; Last time he took a bath, he brought a couple of squares of dark chocolate in there with him. I don't even... what next? Candles, a novel, scented rose petals? Dude.

It's funny, Scourge and Miles both have a taste for 'luxury', but in very different ways. Scourge likes things that make him feel like a powerful tyrant king, I guess. He's kinda... simple (sorry Scourge!) that way. His perfect evening would consist of sprawling in his chair/throne and gnawing on a huge turkey leg, washed down with a strong ale. He also really liked the Goldschlager just because it has flakes of gold floating around in it. But yeah, the meat thing is... Jei can't even walk past a meat chiller cabinet without Scourge drooling over any large slabs of raw meat XD Makes things kinda difficult since Jei and I are trying to adhere to a mostly meat-free pescatarian lifestyle. Miles, on the other hand, likes his luxuries more refined. He doesn't care for the meat and ale that Scourge would subsist on given the chance. Miles' tastes are pretty 'fancy'. On the rare occasions that he does decide he wants to eat something, it's always something that would count more as hoers d'oeuvres than a meal. His idea of dinner the other night for example was a little box of chilli peppers stuffed with cream cheese, and a coffee. He likes coffee a lot, whereas I'm much more of a tea person *drinking tea right now ♥*. He likes quiche, smoked salmon, olives, feta cheese, that kind of stuff. Well, when he's hungry and willing to eat anything, which isn't very often ;_; He'd starve me to death, given half the chance. I'm not sure if that's better or worse than Jei's meat-and-ale-craving predicament XD;

Miles is reading my Database Management Systems reference book right now. It was from the first year of my computing degree, but I never looked past the first couple of pages because it bored me to tears. It's also written in a way that means a lot of it just goes straight over my head (probably mostly because I'm so disinterested in DBMSes) so reading it is just too much hard work. I think it's aimed at professionals who already work in I.T. Don't get me wrong, I love computers (wouldn't have started that course if I didn't), but the whole DBMS isn't my gig right now. Miles seems to find it interesting though, which works fine for me as anything he gets from it becomes second-hand knowledge for me without me even trying XD And I can just sorta zone out while he's doing it and think about other things. If that makes me a lazy butt, well fine XD

Ohh holy crap this got long already and I have to go ;_; I guess I'll finish this up later because there's definitely more that I want to ramble about. New job, here I come o.o;;

ETA: I'm home XD Oh gods. Talk about pressure. But okay, I can do this. I think I'll write up about it later or tomorrow. I THINK THEY THINK THAT I AM FAR MORE COMPETENT THAN I AM :D Hoo~!

Miles made me buy coffee on the way home. And quiche. I like quiche, but I'm not so keen on coffee. But he was all annoyed because I wouldn't buy coffee from the vending machine in the lobby on my break and the only way I could placate him was to promise to buy a jar of coffee on the way home. Eegads. Can I have my life back please? >_>; Oh, right.

Fuuuuck I have a headache and I'm tired and I have so much more that I intended to say, but I'll save it for another post hsfghsghgksh x_____x I talk about all the mundane stuff, act like it's so cathartic to dissect Scourge and Miles' little habits and preferences... and yeah, it is kinda interesting figuring out what I know about them as people. But good lord I never touch on the more complicated (and infinitely more annoying) dynamics and situations. I won't even bother trying right now but I'll leave you instead with this. Ever since something he saw on Second Life, Miles has been enamoured with the idea of getting notched spinal piercings all the way down his/my back from between my shoulder-blades to just above my tattoo. Scourge is enamoured by the idea of violently stringing Miles up by them. Miles is not put off. G'night.

Piercings. ASDF *hides* I have no holes in my body that I wasn't already born with. Funny how piercings make me shudder but I got a freaking tattoo.
Y'know, reading about how much your bonds affect your life makes me feel damn lucky...

Y'know, I'm the same way. I have a large tattoo, yet the idea of getting even my ears pierced squicks the hell out of me.

Miles was unbelievably cruel to me last night. I think I got maybe two hours sleep in total, IF that. I dunno how I'm gonna get through today at work without dying of exhaustion.

I'm not gonna flunk this job though. I won't be the failure Miles thinks I am.

*Points to latest entry* I think Miles is on a kamikaze mission to bring me down with him. Maybe he thinks if he breaks me then he can just take what he wants? Or maybe he just doesn't care what happens to me OR him any more. He's like acid right now. Perhaps I'm just making it worse by even talking about it. But I'm sick of saying "I'm sorry, Miles" and caving in to his whims, only to be treated like shit anyway.

You still have that? Seriously? How long ago did I send that to you? XD

And uh, wow... Miles has some crazy ideas of piercings. O-O

A long while ago XD But like I said, I rarely take baths and one TINY cap-full of the stuff is enough to make an insane amount of bubbles @_@

Aye. I dread to think what he would do to my poor body if I let him ;_;

Quiche rules! Baths do too!

Congratulations on your job, by the way. I haven't sat down to say it yet :) I bet it's gonna be rough; I can't say I have many friends that enjoyed sales like positions when they had them, mostly because it usually involves being someone you're not.

But the money, resume, and experience makes it all worth while. Keep at it! Non-temporary jobs really do open up a lot more to do, and if you're lucky you'll find some non-idiots to pseudo-befriend or more (lunch alone at work sucks after awhile).

Miles found a really delicious quiche at one of the more 'gormet' supermarkets we popped into a little while ago (same time Scourge got his massive turkey leg). It had feta cheese and sun-dried tomato and caramelised onion. It was damn GOOD. I can't fault his taste all the time.

Ugh. I'm terrified about getting on phones XD But at least it's business to business and not cold calling homes, so I don't have to feel like I'm bothering some poor old granny during her dinner or anything ^^;

Also I can meet Jei at lunch-time a few times until she starts back at college in October ♥

It's actually better to end a warm/hot bath with cold water if it's cold out! ^^;;

Yay, I'm glad things seem to be going well for you!

Wait, piercings on the back? I really don't think those can be kept on permanently! They're wayyyyy too risky.

What does it mean to "string" someone up? o.o Sorry if that sounds dumb, but I don't think I've heard such a phrase before.

You guys could always try suspension (warning, extreme images of, well, people being suspended from piercings), though you'd have to get a pro to actually do the suspending. Scourge would just have to... stand on the ground and mock, or something. XD

It sounds both awesome and terrifying. IDK if I could stand the pain, but.
