Whoo... o.o Last night's storm was magnificent. And I mean that in an "ARGH TERRIFYING" kind of way. The wind battered our house all night, howling and screeching like a horror novel banshee whilst throwing rain at the windows with such force that it sounded like hail. Then, sometime during the night, it ripped the back door out of the conservatory and carried it several feet before smashing it down in the garden. Glass everywhere. Door ripped clean off its hinges. The wind also managed to bring a tile off the roof, which hit the grass with a javelin-like angle and enough force to lodge it into the earth, sticking up at an angle, when we found it. Roof-edge guttering was also dislodged and brought down. Here's hoping our insurance covers all of this O.o
In lighter news, I had a true 'aspie' moment yesterday when I was walking to the post office to buy envelopes for some stuff I'm selling on eBay. It was raining and I was walking along in it when a lady pulled up in her car and wound the window down to ask me something. Now, let me emphasize first that I am TERRIBLE with faces, and I have trouble recognizing even people I've known for years. I thought she was my neighbor, who often stops to give me a lift down to the post office if she's passing by. Of course, I have no idea what her car looks like either, even though we've been neighbors for almost a year and I frequently observe her arriving home. So I assumed it was her. I couldn't make out what she was saying, but I assumed it was offering me a lift, as she was pointing down the road, and so I got into the back of her car. It was only when she then asked in a faltering voice how she could get back onto the M5 that I realized I had just climbed into a complete stranger's car who was merely asking me for directions 'cause she was lost XD; Doy!
It's times like that when I realize that I'm probably a lot more Aspie than I'd like to admit ^^;
Edit: Holy shit :\ My mom just received a letter from the Bailiffs saying they'll be coming here next week to remove items from our house to pay off the £1,500+ debt my dad hasn't paid off for his council flat in Sutton. My dad is... he's a total liability and he never ceases to put us through this kind of crap :D
