*Cough, sniffle, groan* :P
Feb. 26th, 2008 11:10 amUghhh... colds are meeeean XP My nose is like a running faucet and has been since last night. We're all out of tissues (my mom has the same thing - in fact, I'm 99% certain I caught it from her >.> Thaaaanks, mom), so we have to use toilet paper ;_; It's not as soft. Coughing, too, but at least the sore throat isn't as bad anymore. Most annoying is the constant sniffling and having to stop to wipe my nose every 5 seconds :P But it's just a cold. Inconvenient? Yes. Annoying? YES. OMGANGSTWAH? Nah.
Still no word from BU >.> I'm about ready to go throttle them. Or maybe sneeze on them so they'll catch my cold. Yeah. Sounds like a plan. Unfortunately, a lot of big universities are severely understaffed and issues just get left on the backburner... until it's too late x.x Pah! Well, they still have the rest of today... but by tomorrow it'll be too late, and I'll have to decide whether or not it's worth taking the three-hour trip to the Open Day. If I do go, I can accost them in person. But... it's £70 for the trainfare and it's a loooong journey :\ So, I'll just have to see.
On a more positive note, I wrote a long email to the local NAS officer in regards to offering my support and services to their local branch if they want me. The woman who replied was really nice and seemed pretty keen; she wrote a pretty long reply with some suggestions and asking if I'd consent to her passing my email on to a couple of local NAS facilities, plus she said she'll phone me today for a chat about what I can do ^^ So that's a positive thing.
I also applied for a couple more jobs. One of the applications came in the mail today (a school admin job), so I'm gonna get right on it.
My mom made some miso soup last night for me to heat up today for my lunch ^^ I dunno what it is about soup that's so comforting when you're sick, but it always warms me right up and makes me feel grateful and better. In fact, I think I'm gonna go get some to eat/drink right now. Yay soup!
On a last note, Jei got home safely :) I only spoke to her briefly last night 'cause I went to bed pretty early, but her flight was okay (but stiflingly hot and kinda bumpy ;_;). I miss her of course, and it was kinda sad sleeping all alone in my bed without her there next to me. But I'm optimistic for the future!
