I have to go sign up for Job Seeker's Allowance today. I feel like such scum, signing on for benefits. I mean, it's not like I'm not trying to get work, because I am! I've applied for more stuff here in 2 months than I did in London in 2 years x.x But still, JSA is 'benefits', and I just feel so cheap for claiming them. My pride wouldn't let me do it, except for the fact that I'm living off my mom and I need to bring in some money to help her. Someone please hire me... ;_; I don't wanna be living off benefits. I wanna feel useful again.

And hey... I'm probably gonna have to go back on a stupid Training Scheme, earning £1.80 an hour for the sake of a summer job. -_-

There would be shame if you dropped out of school early, never bothered going back, don't even think of getting a job, and just generally sit asround all day doing nothing.
For in such a situation it's just abusing the system.
There is even a friend I know who fought hard to get all the way towards graduating university as ecologist with impressive marks, but still can't find a job anywhere and has to depend on benefits as well.
Don't think it's just the lower class who needs help, everyone does.
Life is hard enough as it is, so you should accept any support/money you can get to keep you going or you'll truly hit rock bottom sooner or later.
Benefits are there to ensure people have a chance to build up their lives again or give support in such moments, it's not a sign of weakness to accept them if you do so with the same intention as they are given:
To help you get around for the hard times you have now, and help you get back on top as soon as you do find a job.
