Holy-- X_x I hate this apartment.

So I was eating my lunch and listening to the radio (I swear, if they play 'Sexyback' ONE more time... x.o) when all of a sudden the smoke detector alarm went off. And BOY is it loud. At least now I know it would definitely wake me if there was a fire during the night ^^;

But the problem...? No fire. No smoke even. But the damn thing wouldn't turn off!

So I called Biscal Homes (the company we're renting from), and they said there's a note posted on the downstairs noticeboard detailing how to switch the smoke alarms off. Only problem was, I was still in my pajamas XD (yes, PJs at 2pm, hush!). So I was all set to rapidly get dressed and go downstairs, when it stopped! Yay!

...

Then five minutes later it went off again.

Then stopped.

Then started again.

Whee.

By the time it stopped the third time, I was a paranoid wreck, certain it would start up again with its sudden nee-naw-nee-naw-ing at any given moment n.n;;

It hasn't gone off since, but I'm waaaiting... >.>;

It's possessed by Satan. He has POWERS OVER TECHNOLOGY. Can you remove the battery?

Ugh, I hated living in our apartment. They tested the alarms every month. AND THEY WERE LOUD. Since I'm a stay at home mom, I had to put up with it while the firemen went to each apartment to check the alarms. It took a few hours. Try doing that while having an infant. That...is horrible. The rabbits are frozen the entire time, and the dog feels the need to bark. I wish there was a way they could test the alarms without scaring the shit out of everyone.

Oh, and when they would test the alarms, you were lucky if they posted a notice 1 day in advance. Thank you super. 9_9

Are they battery powered or wired to the electric system? The one upstairs did
that before I replaced it.

SAFETY NOTE: Smoke alarms should be replaced every decade.
