XD Sorry, I promise I'll stop spamming your Friend pages with my retarded art (at least I'm kind enough to put it behind a cut? O.o). But there's a point to this one! Sorta. Aaanyway... I've been on a real Starlight Express kick. I really want to go see it again ._.;; I've only seen it live once, although I have both the Original Cast soundtrack and the New StEx soundtrack virtually memorized n.n;; See, before I got obsessed with aircraft I had a minor obsession with trains, and it never really quite went away... I love steam trains and modern trains alike. I remember riding on a steam train at the Bluebell Railway back when I was about 8 or 9... it was AWESOME. Also, it was a Christmas ride thing, so 'Santa' came on board and gave out toys... Matchbox cars for the boys and teddy bears for the girls ^^; Which I thought was incredibly sexist, but oh well. My brother had a Railway Controller cap which was the most awesome thing ever, and doubly awesome because he was only 5 or 6 at the time and it was way too big for him XD He also had a flag... aww, he was such a cute little chubby-cheeked brother back then... he was majorly obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine, and I used to play with him and his trainset for hours...

...anyway, that's totally beside the point XD; The point is, trains are awesome, and StEx is my favorite musical of all time! And so, because I'm really weird...





Alright then! So yeah, Starlight Express is just awesome. I dunno if I prefer the old soundtrack or the new... the old one had CB in it, and CB was kinda fun. Except he gets fangirled to death x.o Hah! I think it's so awesome how StEx has a fandom... people who draw fanart and write fics and have their own StEx train personas. It's weird because they're always drawn as in the show... people on rollerskates dressing up as trains. But it's fun XD Really fascinating...

Anyway, yeah, the old show had CB... and some great tracks that aren't in the new one, like Call Me Rusty and A Lotta Locomotion. But the newer one is of _course_ more modern. For example, Electra's theme is much cooler, the 'Rap' is re-written, and the whole thing just has more 'oomph!'. But both are wicked-awesome ^__^

Soooo yeah. I love Cats, I love The Lion King on Broadway, I love Joseph and His Amazing Technicolored Dream Coat... but most of all I love Starlight Express ^____^

heh, sounds like me as a kid XD Well besides playing with someone else, and I'm still a fan now just I don't have my toys anymore ;___;

But yeah, those santa gift giveaways do tend to be kinda sexist sometimes ^^; I've noticed that too

I still kinda wish I had a trainset now... you know, a proper electronic one with the changing signals and switching tracks etc. That would be SO cool. The Thomas toys were really good quality, that my brother had. They were the original handpainted metal ones. One time, my brother had a couple in his bag when we went on holiday, and they set the airport security alarm off because of the metal n.n; But yeah, they were cool... let's see, we had Thomas (of course), Henry, Gordon, James, Edward, Percy, Trevor, Bertie, Harold... and some others, I'm sure. I think we had Donald and Douglas too, but I'm not sure... oh, and some Troublesome Trucks XD We had a lot of fun with those. ::Nostalgia...::
