1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?:
Moved 150 miles across the country from the urban sprawl of the outer London suburbs to the rural seaside farm-county of North Somerset in the west XD Probably the biggest change of my life.
2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I kept my diet resolution and I lost about a stone in weight :D I was never fat, but I had a little bit of excess and I got rid of it. I'm proud of that. This year I'll resolve to continue to eat healthily, and I'll complete the Access college course I'm on. I'm not making complex resolutions, but I'm resolving to try my best and not give in to laziness, fear, or distraction ^_^
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
I can't think of anyone.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
My cat Fara died earlier in the year. She was put to sleep after we discovered her ill-health was due to an inoperable stomach tumor ._. At times, I still miss her like it was yesterday, and I still dream about her often.
5. What countries did you visit?
I don't think I went abroad at all this year :\ Jei did come here though! n.n
6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
A job ^^;; and, from that, money.
7. What dates from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
August 22nd, date of the move. I never remember dates, but that one will stick in my mind because of how long was spent building up to it.
Other events of importance are Fara's death and Jei's visit, but alas, I can't remember the dates for either n.n;;
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Oh gosh... I don't achieve much XD I did get to pilot a biplane o.o But that wasn't exactly an achievement, since it wasn't scary or difficult o.o Hmm... well, I think getting through the house move was a pretty big achievement, considering how stressful it was.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Dropping out of Lambeth College because I couldn't hack the 90 minute bus/train journey into London.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I had more migraines than usual, and a few dances with depression/anxiety, but overall I was pretty healthy I think ^^
11. What was the best thing you bought?
I didn't buy much this year, due to being broke ^^; But I had fun with Commander status on OGame, and extra icons on LJ.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
All my friends. They've stood by me through so much. Naturally, Jei deserves my thanks most of all for helping me so much through difficult times.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My dad's. He never ceases to appall and depress me, even from 150 miles away >.>
14. Where did most of your money go?
XD I never had any this year! What little I did get tended to disappear immediately due to my direct debits (web hosting, and the kid in Albania who I sponsor).
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
That gosh-darn biplane lesson that was SUPPOSED to happen in October '05! I waited 8 months for it after it was postponed to '06 due to bad weather and end-of-season.
16. What songs will always remind you of 2006?
Mostly stuff by Aerosmith, Snap, Paula Abdul and from Sonic soundtracks.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i) happier or sadder? A little happier I think.
ii) thinner or fatter? Thinner ^_^
iii) richer or poorer? Poorer x.o By far XD
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Writing :\ I call myself a writer... and then never write XD I spent a lot of time drawing this year, and as a result improved in leaps and bounds, but I do wish I'd done some more writing ;_;
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Procrastinating and being lazy ^^;; I've been really bad about that.
20. How will you be spending the holidays?
I spent Christmas in London with the other half of my family. New year's eve I'll just be here, 'though I might walk over to the local pub for the countdown, if it looks interesting in there.
22. Did you fall in love in 2006?
I fell in love with the little fox-tails keychain thingy Jei made for me :D I love them so darn much!
23. How many one night stands?
O.o None.
24. What were your favorite TV programs?
I really don't watch much TV, but... Doctor Who, The Bill, The Catherine Tate Show, Have I Got News For You... just a handful of things, really, once or twice per week.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't think so. I can't think of a specific person that I hate at all, actually.
26. What was the best book you read?
Definitely 'At Swim, Two Boys'. There were things about it that bugged me, but the relationship between the two boys of the title is just beautiful... Jim and Doyler forever! :P
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Loads and LOADS of oldschool (80s/90s) music torrents via utorrent XD
28. What did you want and get?
My biplane lesson, and for Jei to visit.
29. What did you want and not get?
A crapload of Sonic merchandise ^^; A job. And some other things which remain impossible (for now, anyway :P).
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Aww crap, movies... not my strong point. Borat was pretty funny. I can't think what else I've seen this year, if anything... o.o
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 22, and I did nothing because I was sick and had to cancel my plans to go rock-climbing and caving :\ I had scampi though!
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Living closer to Jei :\
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
Fashion? HAH XD Basically, all my outfits comprise of a mix-and-match of the following - long-sleeved shirt, short-sleeve Sonic t-shirt over the top, jeans, sneakers. And of course my pilot wings pendant and bottlecap pendant ^^
34. What kept you sane?
Jei and my mom ^^;
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I don't think I've ever had a crush on a celebrity or public figure o.o Maybe Shakira... just a little? And *cough* Paula Abdul from the 80s.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Iraq. Gay Marriage. Immigration. Take your pick...
37. Who did you miss?
Jeeeeiiii.... ;____;
38. Who was the best new person you met?

Be true to yourself even if others laugh at you, and don't let the opinions of others bring you down. In the end, try your best to be a good person in your own way. :) ... [/cheese]
