Nintendo Official Magazine is silly. Fox McCloud isn't a 'new' character in SSBB. He was in Melee. I should know since I pretty much only played as him and Yoshiand Pikachu XD. However, I finally found out why Starfox was renamed Starwing and Lylat Wars over in the UK. I knew it was because SOMETHING was already called Starfox... I just didn't know that it was a 1983 Atari game. Well, at least they're allowed to use the name now. Shame the latest games have been a little disappointing/sub-par... oh well, I doubt any new Starfox game will ever be QUITE as good as the N64 classic. Possibly my all-time favorite video game ever (along with Yoshi's Island for SNES). "Do a barrel roll!" Hee. I wish it was possible to buy little model Arwings... wouldn't that just be way past cool? No? Well I think so :P
I will give NOM this though - they've earned my respect for being a Nintendo magazine that doesn't diss Sonic. I mean, they ARE the official magazine, and it probably wouldn't be good practice to trash one of the most popular franchises on their systems ^^; But the old NOM did. They were ruthless... even when all those Sonic titles were coming out on the GameCube, they consistantly gave mediocres reviews packed with sarcastic and acerbic jibes at SEGA and the Sonic franchise. Whereas this new team look upon SEGA and Sonic much more fondly, even to the point where they openly admit that Sonic was the only real challenge to the popularity and success of the early Mario Bros games. I will always be a Mario fan at heart, and nothing can take away from me the enjoyment of the early Mario games (I never owned a NES, sadly, but I played the SNES games to death, and pined deeply when the RPG game never came out in the UK ;_;), but I'm happy that NOM are accepting that Sonic actually WAS popular and addictive 'back in the day' when rivalry was strong. I mean, the old NOM would have NEVER featured Sonic on the front cover. The new team have done so, and in the free calendar that came with this month's issue (well, next month's really, but I'm a subscriber ^^), Sonic is featured as the pic for the month of January ^___^ Would have been even cooler if it was Sonic and Tails, or Sonic, Tails and Knuckles... buuut... they're using Secret Rings art (gah, Wildfire was SUCH a better name ;_;), so of course it's just Sonic. With obligatory heartburn :P But yeah, seeing as Mario features on four of the calendar pages, leaving room for only 8 other games/characters, it's quite an achievement for Sonic to have a whole month to himself ^^ And the opening month at that! YAY SONIC!!
I wish I could get my mic fixed on this PC :\ I miss KSolo XD There's a couple new songs on there I want to record. Also, no mic = no voice-acting for any Flash stuff I do ;_; And that's sad. It's pathetic really... this computer is state of the art and has THREE microphone ports... yet none of them apparently work o.o And yes, I have checked my audio settings. Mic is not set to mute. Everything is configured correctly, and as far as I can see, there's no reason why it shouldn't work. Arg. And it would just be SO lame to have to take it into the repair shop for something as stupid as this :\ I'd try Mesh support, but last time I had a problem (a different issue to do with boot-up errors), I was on hold for 15 minutes at 60p per minute (that's £9 before the call was even answered x.o), and then the guy told me there was nothing that could be done, my computer was fried, and all I could do now is reformat my HD and start over x.o IDIOT. I fixed it myself. Thank God I didn't follow his stupid advice. So yeah. I'm usually pretty good at getting computer-related things to work, but this mic thing has me stumped :\
GORRAMMIT!! So cold n.n;;; My own fault for refusing to turn the heating on in my room, but like I think I've said before, the heating comes through the walls and my computer is kind of in a little cubby area, and I'm desperately afraid of it overheating ^^; So I shall just have to freeze :P
Yeah, one day I'll actually work on a new LJ layout. And revamp 'ZoomSwish!'. One day. >.> Heh.
Edit: I forgot to add, the latest issue of Archie Sonic was actually pretty kickass XD Sonic's line, "For the love of... Shadow isn't this angsty!" was PURE CLASS. Also, Turbo Tails bossing Super Shadow around, and Super Shadow just submissively doing what he's told while Turbo Tails wrapped up that whole 'prophecy' thing was awesome ^^; Jei said Tails should've stayed Turbo for longer, and admittedly the whole thing wrapped up in just a couple pages, but I think it was enough. It did more justice to the whole 'Chosen One' thing than the Mammoth Mogul thing, in my opinion, and it didn't need to be dragged out. However, it's kinda funny that Shadow has a song called 'Chosen One', because when I think of those words, I either think of the Archie storyline or of Buffy the Vampire Slayer ("Death... is your gift" O.o Now THAT would be an interesting/freaky crossover). Anyway, the end of that issue was sad ;_; How Sonic and Tails were totally devastated and crying when Tommy sacrificed himself to destroy A.D.A.M... there was some really strong and deep emotion there. It made me respect Archie a little more again. It was a good issue. Admittedly I didn't read the Chaotix story, and the Teen Titans mini-comic was naff and horribly 'educational' (even if you have dyslexia you can still be a hero!), but the main story was just worth it, and having Super Sonic and Turbo Tails on the cover was extra awesome ^___^ Good work!

My lord, they've stopped showing the Archie comics in Borders. ;O; I just found out yesterday... so I basically have no connection to the comics now. Except the internet. ^^
