Jei - remember the Hunger Break tinned meal thing at the corner-shop while you were here, that looked nice but I couldn't afford it? And remember how I bought that disgusting jelly-like tinned macaroni-cheese instead which I took two mouthfuls of and nearly puked? n.n; Well... the Hunger Break snack is WORSE. Dear God, don't EVER let me buy that again. DO YOU HEAR ME?! Never ever again!!

But it made me think about how some of the newer game books say Sonic has a short temper :\ I SO don't get that. Yes, Sonic's perfectly capable of getting mad... but... y'know, he doesn't have a temper, generally o.o At least, I don't see him that way... he's laid back, doesn't let things get to him... Come ON, there's SO many short-tempered characters in the Sonic-verse, but Sonic himself isn't one of them. He takes things in his stride, doesn't let much bother him... and when he _does_ lose his cool, you know he means business! :P

Eh, I dunno really about Sonic. He's kinda hard to tell on just what emotion he's feeling like. He's more carefree really than anything else I'd say and not always ready to blow a fuse :/

Well yeah, that's how Sonic seems now, especially in Sonic X :\ Very elusive, almost a loner, not open with his emotions... Sonic X killed Sonic for me, really. I liked him MUCH better in AoStH and SatAM where he was still kick-ass cool, but he was actually open with his feelings... not afraid to show them. Y'know, he'd actually cry if things really affected him... not often, 'cause he's too cool for that XD But y'know, he had a sensitive side that was a lot more obvious. He's still a caring guy in the current incarnations, but he lacks that openness... he's kinda closed off, keeps to himself, sorta mysterious and almost angsty even (sitting alone on rooftops, or abruptly leaving for no reason x.x! I hate that.) So yeah, I liked him much better in the old cartoons, and that's how I'll always see him ;_;

Really? o.o I saw Sonic X almost impossible to portray as angsty because he just bounced right back up before getting too upset in the episodes I saw. xD; He was disturbingly optimistic.

But yeah, temperamental just sounds WRONG, dude.

By 'angsty' I mean the whole 'inner turmoil' thing, where he was optimistic and happy all the time, but then he'd walk off randomly and go sit up a tree or on the roof by himself for hours, and everybody would be all "O_o Huh?" XD; I dunno, hard to explain. Despite his cheerfulness, he kinda had a loner attitude in Sonic X that just didn't work for me.

You like the tails too? :P That's so weird. I can never get them right!

I can't speak of Next Gen Sonic, but the Sonic of Sonic Adventure 2 and Shadow to me seems very mature and very angry... at hismelf. That's one thing I loved about him in the Archie comics, and that's what I love about him now. He's emo without being pathetic. Wish I were that cool.

Eh, I don't think emo suits him. Seeing him hating himself just... doesn't work for me. Like I said, I can't really get to grips with his current persona. I guess I just loved Sonic for being fun and happy and cool... and I loved his AoStH persona because he had real emotions but he was never emo... things got to him, but he never became emo. He was genuine without having to have a dark side. I dunno... it's hard to explain what I love about him from back then, but it's definitely missing from the newer games and the Sonic X animé :\ Each to their own, though.

I guess it just says something about our different personalities that I only really love a Sonic who's become lost in his reputation, and you only really love a Sonic who exists beyond it. I know that my treatment of Sonic mirrors my own life, and relates to how I feel trapped in my own intelligence (I can't even say genius, because I'm not actually a genius)...

I thought by tempermental, they meant that Sonic was scary when he WAS mad. XDD;; But what worries me most about Sonic in Sonic X and such is that they make him well... apathetic. .___.;;; He's only allowed to be happy, and ONLY happy/relaxed/whatever. The closest he gets is solemn or omnipetent--it's like he's perfect in each and everyway and that he's LOL UNBEATABLE!11!1! In other words, Gary-Stu. @.@;;; I'm not saying Sonic should write vampire poetry, hack his wrists and listen to Simple Plan--I'm just saying sheesh, just because he's a hero, that doesn't mean... just let Sonic be real. .______.;;;

Then again, that's probably why I was so touched by Sonic's reactions in the endings of SA2B and Sonic Battle. He was freaking out and helpless, but keeping it true to himself without being melodramatic and OOC. Which made it so darn poignant.

Yeah, his apathy in Sonic X made me want to hit him x.x He just didn't seem to care much about... well.. anything O.o At the end of Season 1 when Chris stopped him going, and the portal closed, he was just like "LOLZ okay, I like to run". >.< WTH SONIC?! Your friends all went home without you, Eggman is obviously gonna have the advantage, and how the hell are you gonna get back? Don't you caaaaare? x_x Ahem, sorry. That was just a total 'O.o' moment for me.

Anyway, yeah, Sonic's allowed to freak out... he's allowed to be scared, and he's allowed to lose his cool sometimes, and not know what to do... That doesn't make him emo, it just means he's REAL ;_;

Ugh. *shudder* That just... makes me twitch. Like seriously. It wouldn't surprise me if in some moment in the show, someone like Tails or Knuckles are an INCH away from dying a slow, bloody death, and he'd stand there thinking, "Meh. I don't care". Makes me want to tear my hair out. It's not HIM, dangit!

XD That cracked me up.

If Sonic had arrived back in his own world at the end of Season 1 even FIVE seconds later, Tails would've been already evaporated into jet-dust ^^; Followed most likely by everyone else getting fried too. Sonic literally arrived with seconds to spare in his super form, kicked Eggman's butt, and seemed totally unfazed by the fact that because of his absense, his friends all nearly got killed O.o I mean, it wasn't Sonic's fault, per se, that he was held back... but he didn't grasp the urgency at all o.o He went for a walk with Chris and talked about running and random crap... he didn't seem peeved at all that Chris stopped him from going back! Didn't seem to care that A DAMN LONG TIME passed in his own world while he was in Chris' world, and that his friends almost thought he wasn't ever coming back x.x When he did come back, he was all ":D I'm back. What's up, guyz?" x.x;;;;; SONIC. YOU ASS. Ahem, sorry, this makes me very ranty ._. I love Sonic almost more than anything, and I can't stand to see his character mutilated like that ^^;;
