Maceci says she'll do everything she can to help and support me in my endeavours to relocate to America... on the condition that I learn Spanish. Like, right now. She made me promise XD; She's started talking to me only in Spanish on Facebook... ahhhh. I think she expects me to know enough by August to hold a conversation with her in person D: ... Oh well. Here's my new challenge! >_>;;

Pob lwc. o-O

I learnt a very tiny amount of Spanish in an after-school club, and even now, I only remember some of the really basic stuff. So, sorry, I'm not much help. XD

It may help on your job applications. Depending on where you live it could even be advantageous if you need to get around. But my 5 years of Spanish class didn't really help because they teach you Spain Spanish in classes, not the more common Mexican Spanish that is spoken in this area. The words may be the same, but they don't sound the same and often even have different meanings.

I took espaƱol for two years in high school and I still couldn't hold a conversation. Of course, that was back in the 90s and by now I've forgot all but the most basic of stuff. Kinda makes me want to go back and refresh myself now.

I speak several languages, though Spanish isn't one of them. Have fun and good luck. At the very least it should be easier than French.

Next to German, Spanish is probably the easiest language for an English speaker to learn. Many Spanish words sound similar to their English counterparts.
