Four things.

First off, wow, thanks so much to everyone who commented on my last post to congratulate Jei and me on our decision to get married this July! It really means a lot, and if any of you are able to make it, I'd love to have you there. If not, I'd love to at least stream the event so that my friends across the globe can take part in some small way. The Internet is fantastic for the sheer amount of networking made possible, but it saddens me that as a result many of my good friends live so far away. I'm a bit of a recluse so I don't really have many local friends, heh. Thank you again, all, for your kind words. Married, eee~!
Secondly, if anyone wants to take a gander at Jei's Archie Sonic VS Villain contest entry, you can see it here: http://zoomswish.deviantart.com/art/Sonic-vs-Scourge-Contest-Entry-193818518 Silly Scourge. Who's the king now, baby? :P I've seen soooo many awesome entries to this contest. It makes me excited to see the competition winners!
Thirdly, I figured out why/how I lost so much weight in my first week of dieting: "When calorie intake is initially cut back, the body's carbohydrate stores in the liver and muscles (known as glycogen) are used up. Glycogen is stored with three times its weight in water, meaning that rapid weight losses [...] are possible." So that explains that! Following the initial drop, weight-loss of 1 - 2lb per week is considered healthy, and I lost 2lb last week with another 1lb this week so far, so I'm happy (: I can already feel my clothes fitting better and see the difference in the mirror. By Easter, I'll definitely be below my first target weight and by our wedding I'll be in great shape! I wanna look good in my tux :P I've been having THE most terrible cravings today, though. The worst I've had since starting this healthy eating regime. Really bad stuff like KFC and MacDonald's and crisps and pizza and all that horrible bad greasy icky stuff D: Nooooo. But I resist. With all the delicious soup we've been making, I'm definitely getting my 5 a day of veg, and I know I'm healthier. I really can't afford to ruin it by caving in to a craving >_>
Lastly, a sort of general question. Miles has expressed an interest in occasionally perusing my journal for sporadic updates of his own, which surprised me at first, but it kind of makes sense. There's both of us here and I've no doubt that he's a bit fed-up of existing only as second-hand information via my (naturally) biased posts concerning him. I also get the feeling that he'd actually quite like to communicate with somebody. Most of the time he's pretty content just scribbling his thoughts in the paper journal he now has, but I'm sure that having only me, Sonic/Jei and Scourge to talk to is probably irking him a bit. It might also be good for me, too, in that I can go back to mostly just blogging my stuff and leave it up to him if he wants to talk about anything. Chances are that any posts he makes would be f-locked and under a cut anyway, so easy to avoid for anyone who only wants to hear from me. Still, would you guys be okay with that arrangement? Maybe willing to at least try to get to know him if he does decide to say anything? No pressure. He's not exactly the most likeable guy most of the time anyway :P But it might be worth a try, and it'd free up my own posts a little.
All right, that's it for now! G'night LJ! (:

Good luck! Also, cooked eggplant makes a very tasty substitute for meat in sandwiches, seriously.
Well, er, if you like sweet-ish stuff.

Date: 2011-01-20 02:36 am (UTC)I totally know what it's like to withdraw from fast food. Before I moved out from my parents, we used to go to restaurants and fast food places a lot. But now that I'm on my own, I don't go for fear that I'd want to go more often, and therefore would spend more money than I have! But commercials still make me want to go ._.
I totally have no say in this, but I think letting Miles post would be a good idea. At least I think from a psychological perspective, it'd give him some sort of outlet. But that's just what I think.

Date: 2011-01-20 02:39 am (UTC)*Nods* Of course you have a say. Anyone who friended me has the right to say whether or not they wanna read stuff from someone else on my journal. Thanks for the input! (:

Date: 2011-01-20 06:54 am (UTC)Jei's Sonic vs. Scourge drawing is freaking awesome. I really hope it wins or at least ranks somewhere, the characters all look so animated, and the anatomy is spot on.
I know how you feel with cravings and stuff. When I lost a stone, they were hard to deal with for a while, but... they get easier, trust me. Sometimes it helps to chew (sugar free) gum if you're worried you're going to cave in. It's great that you're feeling more in shape though, well done for losing all that weight a couple of weeks ago.
Sounds fine to me to have Miles post some stuff. Shadow might even comment on some of it if he feels like it. Communicating with soulbonds makes him feel a little less lonely (it's hard when no-one else in the world acknowledges you apart from your host and a couple of internet friends now and then), especially as it would be someone from his realm.

Date: 2011-01-20 07:00 am (UTC)Hehe, she had fun drawing it. She wanted to do something less serious than most of the other entries, so that's how that scene came about (:
Ugh, cravings are evil. But you're right, sugar-free gum does help. I've been relying on it for a while, initially to counter Miles' caffeine addiction, but it does help with hunger pangs too. That and fruit tea~
Alrighty, good to know! Miles was mildly curious about Shadow, so I doubt he'd object to exchanging the occasional comment. Maybe they'll both feel better for it :P

Date: 2011-01-21 06:50 am (UTC)Then again, Miles' memories seem a lot more 'canon' than mine, so it could be more likely that he had an opportunity to meet Shadow, even though I'm pretty sure I never met a Shadow in my own life as Tails.

Date: 2011-01-22 10:32 am (UTC)I don't think we've met anyone from Shadow's old verse yet - it seems to combine Archie comics, games and the anime alike. o.o
At least Rouge hasn't shown up yet. That damn bat.

Date: 2011-01-20 04:18 pm (UTC)HOW DID I MISS THIS ANNOUNCEMENT OF MARRIAGE IN JULY?! FFFFFFFFF YAY! I'm so happy for you both, that's great! 8D Darn my being all the way on the west side of the US, but dangit-- I'll be cheering you guys on and aw'ing in spirit.
Also congrats on the healthy eating. It's never the easiest thing to keep up, but in my experience, my entire mental state changes around what I eat. I hope you keep it up and keep feeling fantastic. =D
*HUGS AT THE BOTH OF YOU YAAAAAAAAAAAY*

Date: 2011-01-20 04:54 pm (UTC)Miles Miles Miles. XD Yeah, he should definitely post here... I'm sure we're all driving him crazy. Not that he doesn't drive us all crazy from time to time. >.>

Date: 2011-01-20 05:06 pm (UTC)He most certainly does @_@ I guess we all drive each other kinda crazy though. Pretty sure Scourge cracked a long time ago if last night was anything to go by XD "KILL!". Kinda funny, kinda scary n.n;;; Really need to join a gym so he can get that pent up... murderous urge(?) out in a healthy way o.o;

Date: 2011-01-20 05:15 pm (UTC)You know, as funny as it is to see them having to deal with the domesticity of our lives, I do kinda worry what'll happen if either of them seriously snaps :\ It's so different, what they're stuck with now. Easy to make light of, but you know. Sometimes I almost forget what their lives were supposedly like before.

Date: 2011-01-20 05:27 pm (UTC)I should get a bike. Then whichever of any of us wants to can get some exercise by riding down the front. Or until then, at least walk it. It's been a while since we've been to the beach and it's right there, so close! Fresh air works wonders, too.
no subject
Date: 2011-01-20 05:37 pm (UTC)You should definitely get a bike! I would love it if you could come riding with me! n.n We should definitely look into it... but yeah, I'd love to walk along the front too... it's so nice!

Date: 2011-01-20 05:42 pm (UTC)What's that supposed to mean? All foxes are head cases and impossible to figure out? Meanie. *Bites you* >_>
Anyway, yeah! I'd love to have a bike. I'd need to make sure I get to use it enough. If I get a local job that I can ride to, that would be great! Or even a volunteer opportunity, which reminds me I need to go look for those. But anyway, if we ever get some moneys in, a bike is something I'd really like to get ('though god knows where we'd keep it x.o Yours is already a H&S hazard in our tiny apartment XD)

I'm game to read Miles' thoughts and feelings should he wish to stick a post up here.

Cool, I'll bear that in mind.

Date: 2011-01-20 08:25 pm (UTC)Awesome. I can't promise that he won't be a jerk, but if he decides to be one then I'll shut down his LJ privileges and he'll have to just deal with being all alone :P So it's up to him, really.
