I woke up at 9:30pm today O.o Seriously. Went to bed about 10am and woke up at 9:30pm. My transition to fully nocturnal is complete >_>; Which is a bummer since I have to be up in the morning to go to the job centre tomor-- eh, later today. It's almost 5am already after all. I think I'll just forgo bed :P

So! Sonic and Tails both have new VAs *cue fanbase explodey* Eh. I'm really not too bothered. A little disappointed that Tails still has a female VA but maybe she won't be as bad. Just gotta wait and see I guess.

I was kinda blah today for various reasons related to various things, but Jei cheered me up completely XD With glowsticks! Oh man. She's bringing back a whole bunch of them from the craft store near where she lives. And she's gonna look for rave body and clothing paint too~ I have a blacklight, so ♥! I need to make a playlist, stat! We will have an awesome little rave party in my bedroom when she gets home :D

Now I want rave-related Sonic art ;_;

I woke up weird. I figured being focused on my job would help, and for the most part it was okay. There was one moment where my co-worker forgot my name and looked at me to remind her. I kind of just stared back at her, unable to say it. Then on my break I was shuddering a lot, and I have nearly completely lost my appetite.
On the way home I found myself shudder again, and without thinking I just thought, "What is your PROBLEM, Shadow?" Then I realized what I was thinking and shook my head to snap out of it.
I'm just having a day. Taking it as it goes.

GLOWSTICKS DOOD. SRS. They're all glowy and stuff man. It's RAD. I'm gonna go to the craft store this weekend and RAID it. The cashiers will think I'm either going to an epic rave... or have gone completely nuts. The stuff is so cheap though x.o like 30 sticks for a dollar!

Clearly the solution is to pack up and move halfway across the world to let jet lag do the work for you! I've convinced myself by now that I'm just on California time in Texas.

You just need to move to .... the Chatham Islands? I guess anywhere between Alaska and the eastern edge of Australia.

Good ol' Klonoa. I miss the fluffy guy from time to time, I admit! Not sure why I didn't end up sticking with him...oh wait, lemme dig up a post, maybe it says.

To continue, time on the forums exposed me to a lot of fanart. I kept seeing one character. For a long time I had no idea who or what it was; I just assumed it was a really well designed character that someone with a lot of fans had thrown together one day. Someone shed light on my interest one day, and that's when I learned about Klonoa. To say I fell in love at the time would be a vast understatement. I was a big fan of his ears, heh. I bought one of his games, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Eventually I bought more. Loved his voice, loved just about everything about him. This was when I started to notice that my fascination with fluffy tails wasn't as big anymore, and it seemed to be shifting towards ears somewhat. That remains today. His ears were also the first floppy ones I really liked, which has led to other things. I eventually switched what avatars I had (the forums as well as Livejournal) to Klonoa based ones, though I kept the Tails ones around. I pretty much dumped the Tails recolor, but I still identified with his character. Klonoa seemed different. He was a bit more unique and definitely less common. I liked that.

By this time, I had met enough people that I had done enough research about the furry community and definitely considered myself one. I used Klonoa avatars on FA for a little bit, and there was a brief period of time when I was strongly considering making my fursona a Klonoa-like character. It didn't last too long, though. Any serious considerations when it came to Klonoa or Tails were thinking of how to include Klonoa ears or a fox tail, and whether or not that desire outweighed all the others. Tails and Klonoa...I guess they served as more of a placeholder after I joined the furry community while I figured out what fit me. This period did last a long time, though.

After awhile (well into my sophomore year) I decided to really try to hash out what I liked and what I could identify with. Reading Redwall, I really liked its depiction of squirrels. I had liked squirrels since I saw the Sword in the Stone. Redwall's squirrels were agile, dextrous, favored bows, seemed like all around good characters, and had an awesome tail (with a general design I still love). Redwall's bats were sort of fun, too, and a little quirky. I like a lot of the bat designs I see; I think they're a little underrated, personally. Meanwhile, Pokémon's Eevees (another pretty common one, at least if you look at Pokémon fursonas specifically) had the bigger ears I was looking for on top of a fluffy tail. They were exceptionally cute, which is something I've held as pretty important since day one for me. They could even evolve and adapt to whatever they needed - and the light chest fluff looked really neat, too. Last, in the back of my mind, came moogles, which I had always liked but never seriously considered. A lot of what I'm mentioning might be physical, but I assure you looks aren't the only things I considered.


Sooo....I don't really have a reason aside from, "Let's make my own character" :p

I hope so. I don't know much of Kate's work, but I did listen to a demo reel. I'll withhold judgement until I hear her Tails though.

Same here..but i'm starting to have slightly higher hopes when the rest of cast is changed too?

Is it me or am i missing the rest of the cast..there've been so many sonic-only games it's like the hog hogs attention..I miss Shadow, Tails and Knuckles..least they'll cameo this one..having missed the Unleashed Train..
