Why is it that the power never once went out in the two years Jei and I have lived here, but less than 5 days into her being gone for two months it decides to go out for a whole night?

D: So... I'm just talking with her online and stuff, and then VROOOoooooooo.... (my impression of stuff powering down). Lights go out, everything dies, plunged into pitch blackness at somewhere a little past midnight? At this point I should mention, since this all seems rather mundane and inconsequential, that Jai is absolutely SHIT TERRIFIED of the dark. Yay. So... Jai freaks out, grabs flashlight, attempts to find source of problem. Power comes back on about two minutes later, only to die about 45 minutes later and... stay dead. Jai freaks big time. No light, no internet, no kettle (no tea!), completely cut off and ALONE. Jai phones power company, who say they can't send an electrician out 'til morning. Jai texts Jei, Jei helps Jai to calm down a little and call her, Jei stays on phone with Jai until 4:30am Jai's time (11pm hers) when the sun finally starts to come up. As soon as it's daylight, what happens? Power comes back on of course. Jai flails and runs online to type up this horrific ordeal onto LiveJournal.

Well fuck.

I'm a pussy. :( The only thing I fear more than the dark is thunderstorms. And maybe spiders. And balloons. Yeah. Balloons. JAI BE HARDCORE.

FFFFFF 5:10am. CURSE YOU, POWERCUT!! This is why I can't have nice things. Like sanity and a calm mind.

Oh, Jai...I had no idea this caused you to freak so badly. I feel just awful...you don't have to apologize to me at all. I'm glad you got back to chat, but now I feel as if I've totally ignored your feelings in a time of need...*sniffles*

*hugs tight*...I'm so sorry you had to be alone in the dark like that. I know what it's like to face a fear head-on for prolonged periods of time. I'll be sure to talk with you tomorrow.

Jei, Jai. I think I can follow.

I hate black outs, especially in the winter. The last time I had a blackout was in the middle of January. So no heat. And the blackout was only on my side of a stream I live next to. Everyone directed on the other side still had power. Fecking liberty. There was nothing to do except wait for my mum to come home, and order a Chinese takeaway. When the power came on at around 11pm, I was greated by lots of light and the really loud sound of static from my TV. Ouch.

Oh, and I hate balloons too. I cannot trust people around them. I mean "Just leave them the fuck alone." Just in case they burst. Ugh. :(

Correct. Not all balloons scare me though. Strong ones like that Sonic foil one you posted with Jei on the beach are of no problem, same as you I guess :D. I don't see those Sonic balloons at all.

On the bright side (no pun intended there) at least you was able to use your phone, sometimes blackouts can prevent you getting a signal. In some cases anyway. I'd hate being alone in the dark, glad your okay now.

Thanks for the concern, Ant ^^ Yeah, my house phone doesn't need electricity, luckily. It gets all the power it needs from the phone port.
