The Steampunk
World's Fair

Piscataway, New Jersey
May 14-16 2010

http://steampunkworldsfair.com

This looks amazing. Words can't express how much I WANT TO GO. And actually, the location is incredibly convenient - it's in the town right by where Jei lives in NJ. The town her dad works in, actually! So close. But - and it's a massive but(t)! - she's still here in England with me and can't go back until her term ends, two weeks after the fair :( So I guess we're not going. Aww well... maybe if it's successful enough we'll be able to go in 2012 after she graduates.

I love Steampunk. I really really do. I'm gutted that we can't go to this ;_; Does anyone else live near enough who wants to go and could let me live it vicariously through them? :(

Your result for The Steampunk Style Test...

The Gadgeteer

32% Elegant, 62% Technological, 20% Historical, 40% Adventurous and 43% Playful!

You are the Gadgeteer, the embodiment of steampunk technology. Ironically, many of the things that most define your style are probably too large to easily carry about, but given the opportunity you would prefer to be seen surrounded by boiler engines, gear-driven calculators, and incredible automata. Of all the steampunk fashion styles, you place the greatest emphasis on technological accessories, and you are the most likely to create elaborate gadgets that are as much a part of your outfit as your clothes. You probably have goggles, but unlike most people you consider them to be for more than decoration. Whereas most people might look odd carrying a satchel of tools around, for you they may well be essential. Above all, you remind everyone that what sets the genre apart from Victoriana is simply the level of technology.

I'm not deeply familiar with steampunk, but a certain fascination has been sparked in me ever since I found out that it wasn't just about steam-powered machines, but creating an entire culture based on those machines, with its own fashion and architecture.

A pity that I don't live in Jersey, it could have been a lot of fun to send a report back to you of my findings.:)

Gaaaahh... everytime I think about it I can't help but get frustrated! If we were where I live it would just be sooooo easy!! But hopefully it'll be an anual thing and stay in the same place so we can go another time n.n

And Gadgeteer! XD that's so perfect! It's definitely you... and I think it's on of the coolest steampunk 'characters' really... not really into the top-hat guys :P anyway, I should take that quiz....

I got the Air Pirate, but then I changed one answer that I was swinging between (and was nearly identical) and got the Adventurer so who knows? XD I'm going with a mix between the too... got any spare room in that airship of yours? ;D

Technically, no... but if you gave me good enough reason not to tell anyone, there's some large empty crates and sandbags in storage that might just about conceal a person if they stayed low... ;)
