Happy New Year, everyone!!

I have SO much to talk about, but right now isn't the best time, so I'll keep this as brief as possible (considering that I haven't updated since before Christmas ^^;).

Christmas was good. It was wonderful spending time with my mum again, and my brother and I got along splendidly, which is amazing considering our history (this in itself deserves its own post of reminiscence on the relationship roller-coaster that my brother and I have rode on over the years!).

As far as gifts are concerned, money was tight this year but I gifted:

- Carole King's "Tapestry" CD to my mum
- A selection of shower gels and body sprays to my brother
- A Sontails drawing to Jei (I will buy her so many nice things when I have money ;_;)

and received:

- Slipper socks, body spray, cookies and toothbrush from my mum
- "Classically Trained" NES poster from my brother (it is AWESOME)
- Sontails drawing and demented (♥) chibi Sonic figurine from Jei
- Wonderful warm PJs and hot chocolate from Jei's family (they are SO generous o.o)

The best part of Christmas with my mum was her delicious Christmas roast with all the trimmings. I look forward to it every year, and every year it never disappoints. I love her cooking so damn much.

My dad invited himself home for Christmas too, and as usual he was a childish brat with no sense of responsibility, a vast sense of (unwarranted) entitlement, and no clue who his family members actually are as people. Of course I didn't expect him to bring gifts or even cards for us, but that he didn't even thank my mum for her food and hospitality is just not on. I am still in shock over the fact that he tried to force my brother, who was working all day Christmas Day and Boxing Day on coursework, to drive him into town after dark on icy roads to buy a £1 lottery ticket. The blow-out that follows deserves its own post too, but the rest of us refused to let his petty tantrums ruin Christmas.

Jei came back to England on the 29th and we went into London with her friend Ce and a bunch of other people that Jei and I didn't really know. Again, it'd probably take another post to describe those couple of days in any real detail, but basically, we saw in the New Year on the bank of the Thames, right opposite the London Eye and next to Big Ben. It was most epic indeed and I only wish I could remember the fireworks better! But I was lip-locked with Jei for most of the display so I guess it's all good XD

That evening was amazing, all except for a mishap which could have ruined the whole night. Some careless so-and-so decided to throw a bottle right in front of me as we were walking through the crowd and I slipped on it and crashed right down on top of it with all my weight. Thank goodness the darn thing didn't shatter! But the bruise/contusion on my thigh is a sight to be seen. It's about the size of a tea saucer and raised, with all the colours of the rainbow. It's possibly the worst bruising I've ever had and three days later it's still extremely swollen, discoloured and sore. But thankfully I didn't feel the pain or realize how bruised I was until after the party when we crashed at Ce's house.

As for my New Year goals:

- I have to catch up at college and get my assignments in. Keep it up and don't get sidetracked again. Keep my health and depression in check. I'm seeing the MHF next Monday and my doctor doubled my dosage to 20mg as well as giving me a book called "T.A. Today" that he thinks might really help me.
- I've joined Weight Watchers and I'm determined to lose enough to get me back down below 10st. I'm not yet 'very overweight' by their conversion chart, but I am 'overweight', and that won't do. Fixing that ASAP!
- Stop procrastinating and do the things I need to do, such as maintaining the SIG that I run in Mensa and also learning Japanese and practising drawing.

Phew, that's enough typing for now! And this is only a summary! I hope everyone had a fun or at least stress-free Christmas and New Year, and that things go well for all of you in this new year, 2010. Whoo, bring it on!

Apart from that stupid bottle incident, it sounds like a very romantic way to ring in the bells. Happy New Year! xoxo

Belated Happy Holidays to you, Jai! Been ages since I last heard from ya I know, but at least I never seemed to completely forget about you.

Ouch, well yeah at least that bottle didn't break. Glad you had a nice Christmas.

Best of luck on your goals!
