One more thing I hate about this time of year. Spiders. This year seems to favor the particularly leggy ones. You know, the type with the smallish tear-shaped bodies, maybe the size of a fruit pip... but really long gangly legs that could easily spread across your palm if flattened. And the legs sort of come up and then out... ::shudder:: I severely dislike spiders.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that I'm arachnaphobic... 'cause you know, everyone and their dog claims to be arachnaphobic, but the truth is most people just dislike spiders. I'd say it only counts as a phobia if it starts to severely hinder your life, and if it affects you even when there aren't spiders around (ie, obsessive 'spider checks', or refusing to go into a room because there was once a spider in there). I'm certainly not that bad. But when I'm actually in the presence of one, I get pretty freaked. If there's one on the floor, I'll climb up on the couch and stand there, staring at the spider until it goes away or someone else deals with it ^^; I've gotten over my old habit of screaming for help like a little pansy... but I still can't deal with 'em myself. I certainly can't go near 'em enough to get them with a tissue, and even zapping them with the long-nozzled vacuum cleaner is not something I can easily do. I just freeze up and start shuddering. Ugh. Spiders n.n;;;

One time, when I was on vacation in Cyprus, I had a baseball cap to protect my head from the sun, and I picked it up to put it on 'cause we were going out, and as I turned it over above my head, a big fat spider fell out and landed on my head, then fell down onto my leg x.x Can we say trauma? XD;

There was a big one on the curtains tonight while I was watching TV. It crawled all the way across them... it had really long legs x.x I don't know where it went. It must still be there somewhere. I'm not going near the curtains again for the next ten years XD ... so yeah, not 'phobic... but close x.x;; Hate spiders.

My skin crawls when I see just a PHOTO of a bug. xD
Their legs disturb me.
Your descriptions of them just made me hyper-sensitive and felt like anything that touched me was a bug (including my clothes.)
Thanks, REALLY needed the panic attacks. xD;

My teachers think I'm nuts. Just an ant on my desk is enough to make me SCREAM and run around and REFUSE to directly touch the desk with my hands for weeks, maybe even a month.

BUGS, g@ra@%gh3#^#&#@!

Hm- needles make me so scared I almost faint-
maybe the spider's legs remind me of needles? xD
... Or not.

I still haven't watched that Jon Pertwee (Doctor Who) episode with spiders in my mom taped for me onto a DVD, XDDD

I dislike that our living room carpet makes it hard to step directly on them and kill them. I always have to put a small phone book over anything to assist my shoe.

I'm also having a time with ticks on the window screens. Does anyone else see them in their yard?
