So... um... anyone think it's time to buy a new computer chair? >_>;;

With a little duct tape, it will look good as new.

I'd also need to get some spongey material to stuff in there since a whole lot of the stuffing has come out and made it really hard. Plus the seat back doesn't work. :( I could try repairing it, but it's in such crap condition now that it won't be long before the other side splits. It's been dealing with the wear and tear of me sitting on it for about 8 years now XD;;

Heh... sounds like project time!

Or you could get a new chair and let this one retire and spend its final days in Spain or France.

At least it didn't break in... ... did it break in two?

That once happaned to me while I was talking to someone. Fell flat on my butt. The first thing I did: reach up and type "Ow. My chair just broke into two and I hit the floor buttfirst" (something like that). XD;;;

XD! I'm glad it's not just me who feels the need to type what's happened to me immediately before even dealing with it ^^;

Me: (Typing) Gah! I just sliced my finger open and it's bleeding everywhere! (... reads what I just posted and realizes I'm bleeding all over the keyboard...) BRB.

This is typical XD And no, my chair didn't break in half... yet. But I have to sit on a pile of towels so that my butt doesn't hurt from sitting on it ;_;

I've done that before. The back of my old chair fell off once when I leaned back and I blogged about it before deciding to try and fix the thing.

Considering the condition it's in, I would say yes. You don't want to wind up like me, my computer chair broke while I was sitting in it. XD

After reading Mel's comment above, I'm starting to feel that chairs breaking while in use is more common than I thought XD;

Yes it is. XD Mine was a 30 year old %100 wooden chair, so you can imagine how unpleasant it was. XD

o-o How have you not gotten splinters yet?

Actually I did before I came up with the bright idea of padding the seat with some towels to protect myself ^^; Hence the subject title "Oww."

Dang >,< Good o'le duct tape time! Actually, I've learned that if you layer up a bunch of duct tape its actually pretty comfortable o-o

My chair is made out of METAL

Heavy and uncomfortable, but short of a nuke I doubt it's going to break <3

Hah, maybe I should go with that next time. With the amount of time I spend at my computer, I need something that's pretty heavy duty and isn't going to wear out too fast!

Ok, if you're gonna go with that then I wouldn't suggest a metal folding chair, which is what a lot of people think of with metal chairs. They have weak spots in the folding portions that will eventually break down.

I'm talking about a static chair made of metal. With enough padding like the one below me said (mine doesn't have quite enough) it's not too horribly uncomfortable, and it's super-stable. My Rottwiler can't even tip it over when he tries to act like a lapdog.

Funny, the computer chair I had when I was at uni looks exactly like the one you have, including the damage at the front (though mine was nowhere near as heavy)

Maybe a metal chair with a pillow on top could do the trick, that way its heavy duty AND comfy

Actually the damage is down one side, not the front, but I think it's a standard office chair that almost everwhere has XD

Hmm, good idea! Might try that!

If I use my imagination, it looks like a delicious s'more covered in blue frosting.

You make strange s'mores, Blaze. Srsly.

The s'more looks inside-out to me. Hence why I said it was strange.

Hee hee, once again I create confusion.:D

To me, the yellow/beige stuff looked like a graham cracker, the white stuff looked like marshmallows, and the brown thing in the middle looked like a chocolate bar.:3

From: [identity profile] peonyopal.livejournal.com
I guess to me it looks more like a single graham cracker with marshmallows on top along with blue frosting on that ^-^;

Ok! See, to me the graham cracker was the wood.
xD
