Every now and then I'll get an email, usually from one person or another with whom I'm vaguely aquainted (though I've had them from complete strangers before), telling me that I'm a sinner and I need to be saved, and then I get a page or two of Bible quotations, followed by the promise that said person will be praying for me. And if, like today, it's from someone I vaguely know... I also get told that they can no longer stay in touch with me (but they hope to some day meet me in heaven. Huh). Am I... so much of a sinner that everyone and their dog feels the need to write incredibly long and personalised letters to save me? ^^; It's... um... flattering. But no thanks, guys. I'm an agnostic athiest, and happy to stay that way :P And if you feel being friends with me makes you more of a sinner too... well... that's just sad :\

Oooookkkaaayyy....may I ask why you got this e-mail? Because you're an athiest makes you a sinner? I hope I read that wrong...

I think this time around it might be to do with the fact that I'm bisexual. I'm not sure... sometimes it's because I'm a 'furry', or because I occasionally support 'yaoi', or even because I believe in the real existance of animé/videogame worlds XD There just seems to be plenty enough things about me that trigger the "must extend religious life-line!" reflex in certain people ^^;;

That's what I thought.
I was all: 'Huh? I didn't know Jai was an atheist! xD I thought this was about his sexuality!'

Aww, furries are fine. xD

It's really only the yiffers that should bother Christians/others.

... Especially really GRAPHIC horse/wolf/whatever yiffy crud.

Ya know, sometimes I question the purity of the Christian religon. If this God does exist, if he is such a great being, shouldn't he accept all things about a person and allow them to beleive as they please? With the way Christians seem to be sometimes this is questionable, that God seems to want to control us like characters in a video game

I know what I said is going to cause _alot_ of controversy among some I know, but that e-mail you got seems to back this up.

I personally ignore them myself, I don't dislike all Christians (I'm not prejidiced *Spelling*) just ones that beleive all outside of their way of living is a "sin"

Not to make this into an overblown argument, that's what makes God so beautiful. He gave each of us the freedom to do as we please. Whether we choose to follow guidelines such as the Ten Commandments is strictly up to us. So I feel the opposite, we are not puppets at all. This alone doesn't have to do with the email, which I find extremely odd to begin with and you know how passionate I am with Christianity

Like I said, it was going to cause controversey...

Ah well, no stopping the inevitable I suppose

Well, to each his own, but who said I was directing that at you no offence?

I know it wasn't directed toward me, but since you do not understand the Christian ideology I just wanted to make sure that point was made across. But yea, it's a very debatable topic that people on both sides will speak passionately about unfortunately

And just to play it safe, I meant no offence to anyone with that above comment

This is extremely strange, I got an email about the same thing but I knew who the guy was. You know Super-Sonic-Guy from TTR? He sent me that same email, and that he couldn't be online anymore due to personal reasons. What the heck is going on?

Yeah, it was from Travis. Only... the email was really personalised, despite the fact that I don't even know him that well... ^^;

Maybe I'll say more later, cause this could get interesting..but look at this from a Chrsitan perspective. That is, one in a different light than the email you got.

From a theological Christian point of view, Jesus was divine and should be worshipped. He was also a human whose life should be imitated. To all those who thinks that being friends with sinners makes them sinners...I point them to Jesus, who they should be a fan of if they're really being Christians. Did Jesus only converse with the priests? With the devout? Hell no, he spent a long time with criminals and those that society had rejected.

Saying "I can't be friends with you anymore because my faith calls you a sinner" is bullshit from a Christian perspective. Anyway, I hope I remember to reply here again later, because this could bring up some interesting discussion.

xD; I've never gotten those! (Then again, said people are probably hiding everytime I come on a chatroom or something because Muslims are TERRORISTS ALL OF THEM ZOMG.)
Or something equally idiotic. xD

-just had to look up agnosticism on Wikipedia- ... I know what an athiest is, of course, I just never bothered to look up agnosticism before 'cause I'm too lazy. xD

>>>Agnosticism is distinct from, but compatible with, atheism. It is also compatible with theism. This is because agnosticism is a view about knowledge concerning God, whereas theism and atheism are beliefs (or lack thereof) concerning God. For example, it is possible to believe in God but to believe that knowledge about God is not obtainable.

That broke Lamees' brain. xDD; Unscramble me, please, Jai. ^^; -checks atheism-
Well. Obviously.
But then how the heck would that fit with... unless- then...
... -brain goes 'splody-

Whiskey tango foxtrot?

Never mind I'm easily confused. xDD;;;

>>> write incredibly long and personalised letters to save me?

Aw, you know most of those people probably just have a whole FOLDER with different ready files with '-insert soul in need of saving's name here-' and '-insert sin here-'
...
Why is it scary that I can actually imagine that?

.......

Wouldn't Antitheism work better then, if this description is correct?

Which reminds me. xDDD;; There was one athiest (or several? I hope not... and my memory sucks. xD;) who wanted the 'In God we Trust' or however it went thing off.

... Why? ^^; It's been there for ages and doesn't actually /do/ anything to anybody.
It's money.
