So, Michael Jackson is dead. I kinda expected he would die young (he was 50), but at the same time I never expected that day to actually arrive, you know?

I'm not affected on a personal level, because I didn't know him and I'm not sure that I cared much for him as a person (he creeped me out somewhat, to be honest). But as a musician and a performer, his death is definitely a huge loss to the industry. I've always loved his music. He was an incredibly talented, if deeply troubled, man.

I'm not deeply grieved over it, but I am surprised and somewhat saddened at the loss to the music industry. It just kinda happened outta nowhere.

His death didn't hit me as bad as Steve Irwins did. I was more troubled by that. Still, it's a shame that people make such nasty comments to someone who just died. Honestly, the world's going awry.

:\ He was definitely troubled, and weirdly enough, the video they have up on ED (at least currently) kinda showed how he always wanted to escape into a fantasy world. Well, who knows... maybe he has now.

Yeah, I watched that video... He was a very strange man. But he had a profound influence on the world, despite (and maybe because of) his oddities. He was extremely talented :\ Sometimes genius and insanity just go hand in hand.

It's not young as in youthful, but it's extremely young to die :\

I wouldn't say it is extremely young. Dying in your twenties or less, now that is extremely young!

That is extremely young, yeah... but I do think that 50 is very young to die. I would consider 50 a young age to die :\ I have half-siblings who are in their 50s and I can't imagine them dying any time soon. Anything less than 65 I would consider young for dying in the developed world, and 50 is very young for mortality to claim someone.
