I've worked with kids all my life and will probably work with them again. I've been a nursery nurse and in sole charge of a library storytime and crafts session and a kids' I.T. club. I love kids :)

When my partner and I are ready, we will almost certainly have ones of our own.

I'm not attracted to kids. While I think that 'thought crime' is nonsense and that nobody should be attacked or punished for thoughts, I DO feel very strongly that anyone who is attracted to kids should never put themselves in a position where they are alone with them or working closely with them if they are aroused by them. They should stay far away.

However, I'm not aroused by kids (and the ones I've liked in fiction are not really 'kids' anyway), so it doesn't apply here.

I've always wanted a career in I.T., alongside working with children, and that's what I'm aiming for! ^^

Hm, that's a remarkable argument. Have you considered looking up the definition of shota? I mean, seriously, look up the definition of the word if you're going to use it as proof that you're not a pedo despite the fact that you've stated, yourself, that you are.

Shota, by definition, is anime, manga, or fan-art involving a non-minor and a minor. And by a minor, while they oftentimes leave it vague, the grade-school clothes and quite blatantly pre-pubescent mannerisms appearance leave little doubt that they're not children.

Also, it's all very well and good for you to attempt taking a "higher ground" by saying you only think about it. Unfortunately, the laws in almost all countries would severely disagree with you, and land you on a list of registered offenders, not to mention include a jail term, counseling, heavy psychotics, and never being allowed to work with or adopt children. And if you ever lived in the US, any time you moved into a new neighborhood, all of your neighbors would receive a lovely letter stating that a registered sex offender was living at your address. This would include your picture and a description of your crimes.

Please, do the world a favor. Get counseling before you become another sickening statistic. On top of that, perhaps some acknowledgment of reality would be useful. You're acting like a 12yo child, but you're an adult; step up to the plate and stop flailing around tha the world isn't fair, the world doesn't understand how YOU feel about children, etc.

You live in the same world as everyone else, a world where child assault statistics are horrifically high. Please get therapy before you hurt someone.
