Higher, higher~
Feb. 1st, 2009 01:17 amPayPal still hasn't refunded my moneys >_> Oh well. I'll just have to... scrounge off Jei for a week? XD It's okay. She didn't have much money last term, and this term she has a little more than me, so we're evening out.
Oh! Jei and I have put down our deposit on our flat for next (academic) year. It's a really lovely little ground-floor place. It has two double-size bedrooms (with double-size beds, mmm), a nice cozy living room, a decent sized kitchen, and a bathroom with a really modern-looking kidney-shaped bath/shower combo. The rent doesn't include electricity or gas, but it does include water. The only downside is that it's not a combi boiler, so we have to heat up the tank 20 minutes prior if we want hot water. But that's okay. There's also a highspeed broadband line, and it shouldn't be too expensive to set up internet. We'd be moving in around mid-Sept. It's actually really exciting to think of renting out our own little place together! (Aww, they grow up so fast...)
We walked up to the Triangle yesterday to talk to Forever and Ever Tattoos about pushing back my appointment a whole month. The guy there was really apologetic and admitted that it really wasn't good enough, since I've been waiting to get it done since early October, and that he'd understand if I wanted my deposit back and to go elsewhere. He was nice about it, so I didn't give him a hard time. He told me that if there are any cancellations, I'll be at the TOP of the list. I'm sure he's probably learned how to fob people off with a charming smile and a thousand promises, so I don't expect to get a call, but... I feel at least a little better after doing that.
After that, I browsed in Marks and Spencer for a while. I'd forgotten how expensive that place is! Needless to say, I didn't buy much... but they did have some gluten-free sausages! I hadn't been able to find those anywhere until then, so I bought a couple of packages and put them in the freezer. Yum. I also found some gluten/dairy-free chocolate peanut-butter, which I am currently consuming in the most delicious PB&J sandwich I have EVER tasted. Who says gluten/dairy-free folks can't have nice things? :P (Actually, it's harder to find healthy things than it is to find suitable treats, sometimes XD)
Oh wow, it's 1am? I don't feel tired at all. But that's probably because I slept in until midday today and then had a nap in the afternoon for a couple of hours... haha.
Hmm... I've been playing Unleashed on PS2 for the past few days. It's alright, but I have to say that I MUCH prefer it on 360. Alas, I own no next-gen consoles so... bleh. Werehog levels are pretty tedious, Sonic levels are lots of fun, story is kinda blah, and I don't like Chip. But it's still got some fun in it, even if it doesn't really grip me. I wish the PS2 version had the hub worlds and the Tornado minigame, but ah well, what can ya do?
Well, better get going I guess. Doo doo doo. See ya later!

Date: 2009-02-01 10:55 am (UTC)Also, I have Unleashed on 360 and it kicks ass, it really does. The only thing I hate is the medal collecting you have to do to unlock new levels, that annoyed the hell out of me <_< I loved Chip though n.n He was really really cute and funny, he almost seemed like a character they'd planned for AoSTH but then pulled him at the last minute, and I loved that.

Date: 2009-02-01 06:24 pm (UTC)I'd love to have a 360 or a PS3. They're just too expensive for a poor student like myself XD

Date: 2009-02-01 11:34 am (UTC)>.> Yeah... I'm sure the guy at Forever & Ever is trained in the art of appeasing people he's had to screw over... but he still was nice, and I'm pretty sure there's not much that could be done about it anyway besides trying somewhere else, and there'd be no guarantee that would be any better. Just poops!
AND DAMN YOU PAYPAL!!!!!

Date: 2009-02-01 06:31 pm (UTC)Glad to see your diet's apparently going well. I didn't even know sausages had gluten in them in the first place. The more you know, huh?
I honestly was not able to think of "kidney-shaped bath/shower combo" without imagining a steamy romance scene between you and Jei. Make of that what you will.O_o
Pretty cool that you and Jei can help each other financially like that. I figure the best relationships are the ones where the partners and friends first and lovers second.

Date: 2009-02-01 06:42 pm (UTC)Mm-hmm, sausages usually contain rusk, which is made from wheat. And wheat contains gluten :(
Haha, weeell... it IS a nice bath/shower with plenty of room for two!
And yes, Jei is my best friend more than anything else ^^ Even though I love her to bits in every other way too.

Hope you guys enjoy the little organ-shaped tub.^.^
Yep, the confirms it, the way you feel about Jei is a lot like the way I feel about my best pal/significant other.^^
