My "Cool Running" doujinshi arrived today ^_^
As far as I can tell, it's based on/before Sonic 2, and basically it's the story of how Sonic and Tails met. I gathered that from the small snippets of Japanese I could read... such as Tails staring wide-eyed at the Tornado, saying "Sugoi!" ("cool!"). Also, it looked like Tails kept calling Sonic "Sonic-san", and Sonic kept telling him to just call him 'Sonic' ^^; Aww.
Anyway, it's a cute doujinshi. But as usual, they misspelled a lot of the names in English. I can't really blame them, but still... you'd think they could look up the correct spellings since they're used on official merchandise everywhere :P Knuckles was "Knockles" (no 'uh' sound in Japanese, so I guess 'oh' is closer than 'oo' n.n;), Miles Prower was "Mails Prower" (again, makes sense phonetically - ma-i-ru-su = mails XD), and Rosy the Rascal (Amy) was "Losy the Rascal" XD Weird thing is, other times they spelled them right ^^; Oh well...
The back page had human versions of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Metal. I'm not big on human versions of the Sonic characters, but I do like how they did Sonic's hair n.n Maybe I'll scan in that page.
There's also a page with a Pokémon comic on it o.o Ash, Misty, Brock, Gary... and Onix O.o
There's a small mini comic where Sonic kicks Tails and he lands on a spike-bed ;_; MEAN!
Oh yeah, and at the back there's a page with Sonic and Tails dressing up as a vampire and a wizard for Hallowe'en ^_^
The whole doujin is in old-school style (based on the art from the Sonic 2 era I guess), and the last page of the story says "To be continued..."... I wonder if they ever did? I haven't seen a sequel to this particular doujin, but y'never know o.o
It's awesome anyway ^^ ::Hugs it:: So, that brings my Sonic doujin collection up to a grand total of... two! :P Yay.
