I'm finally at Bournemouth University and all moved into my digs! It's way bigger than I thought it'd be. My room is really quite spacious, not at all cramped. And it's like an apartment; 5 bedrooms (each single with an en-suite) and then a BIG lounge/kitchen room with couches and a breakfast table and the cooking stuff. The front-facing wall is all glass, so it lets in the light wonderfully and the view isn't bad either!
I'm about a stone's throw (well, perhaps with a good sling-shot) from Bournemouth's blue-flag beaches, and only 10 minutes away by bus from both the Uni and Jei ^^ After being separated by an ocean and an 8-hour £600+ plane flight from Jei for 10 years, it's hard to believe she's living just one bus-stop away!
Haha, the car-ride was interesting though. My mom, Jei and I, plus all of Jei's luggage and mine for the next 3 months or so, all crammed into my mom's little people-carrier. I'm amazed that we managed it, to be honest. The car felt like it ought to have been sinking through the tarmac.
So far, out of 4 flatmates, only one other aside from me moved into A054 today (my apartment). He seems nice. Another girl I met on Facebook is moving into this flat on Monday, and she seems nice also. I might ask if they have LJs :P
Bah, I'm tired. Was up at 6am this morning after less than 5 hours' sleep, and moving Jei and myself into digs was tiring for all of us (we had to lug her bags up 4 flights of stairs XD; At least mine has lifts!), but I do feel for my mom who had to drive the three hours back home again afterwards ;_;
I feel like hitting the sack right now, but I know that if I do, I won't wake up for at least 4 hours ^^; And there's a student party in the hall downstairs at 9pm that I feel I really should attend, if only to be sociable. I guess I could try to nap for just an hour and set my alarm, but I know I'll not want to get back up again >P
Anyway, I'm all hooked up to internets in my room now (yay!) and I've pretty much unpacked and set everything up. Tomorrow I hope Jei and I can explore town a little.
But right now, I just wanted to let you know that I made it and I'm officially living at Purbeck House now as a BU student. And I have internet. :)
