Hi guys!
Summer of Sonic was AWESOME. I don't have time for a full run-down, but here are some personal highlights:
* Lee Brotherton (aka Bentley Jones), Richard Jacques and TJ Davis performing live on stage. TJ in particular (Sonic R - Can You Feel The Sunshine & Diamond In The Sky) was AMAZING. Damn, that girl can SING. Game-music-wise, the remix of Rusty Ruin was a huge highlight for me, as I love that track to death. Lee sang a special version of His World and also Dreams of an Absolution. The whole thing was epic.
* Nigel Kitching (Sonic the Comic/Fleetway artist) signing stuff and drawing for people. I got him to draw and sign a pic of Sonic and Tails for me, hehe ^^
* Random Tails Doll pic showing up after the event. Creepy, no? XD I nabbed it.
* I WON A DS LITE! :D Hell yeah! Apparently I was the only person to notice the sneaky message on the wall with the password "cupcake" on it. My observency and pedantry in reading all the cards on the wall paid off big time :)
* There was a girl dressed as Eggman. Her costume was AMAZING. Guys, she SHAVED HER HEAD. Argh! That's dedication! She was awesome.
* Meeting the crew from =SSMB=. I scored hugs from Dreadknux and Roareye, a handshake from Roarey, and I got to meet Violet, Darkspeeds (all the way from Australia! :o), JJ4eva, AAUK... the list goes on. It was epic. And as I was staff, I got to queue-jump to get into the hall, plus I got to stay behind after to help clear stuff away and chat to the others :)
* Free goody bags with an SoS t-shirt and various SEGA goodies (sticker, lanyard, keychain, pen)!
*The atmosphere was amazing. Just... so many Sonic fans, and so diverse! Young, old, male, female, from the UK and outside, all just wonderful people having an awesome time. Cheering, singing along, laughing... it was just... well... yeah, amazing.
So yeah, those were the personal highlights for me. There was also a chance to play Sonic Chronicles, and also there was SatSR, Sonic 2, etc. There was a Guinness World Records event (someone got Emerald Hill Zone in 20 seconds), and a quiz, and... yeah. It goes on.
All in all, it was just a FANTASTIC day out, despite the three and a half hour train journey to get there. I'd do it again in a heart beat! :D
And now I am off to Spain. See you in a week! (May be able to update from there, we'll see.) Ciao!

Hah, we can vs Sonic on DS if you like. But I warn you I'm crap so it's probably not worth your time, lol.
Girl!Eggman was AWESOME. She won a prize pack for her efforts, and rightly so! You can see video of her on YouTube.
So yeah, all in all it was just a once-in-a-lifetime truly EPIC showdown :)
