I think it may once and for all finally be over for Clinton. I hesitate to assert any certainties, 'cause you know how this things can go, but I'm pretty optimistic about Obama's chances now. His position is pretty strong; I just hope that the party hasn't been to badly divided and damaged by all the mudslinging between the two camps. Go Obama! Ahem.

Well, the past few days have been interesting, what with migraines and May Fayres and me nearly knocking myself out this morning (can we say "oww?"), but I suppose there's nothing terribly exciting to report. The weather's been very warm, which is nice if you're free to frolic about in it, not so nice if you're stuck in a stuffy office all day. But I can't complain (too much). My team are all really nice and I've been given my fair share of responsibility, which makes me feel good. Paper cuts, on the other hand (pun not intended)... not so nice.

I really need to get my butt into gear about getting that laptop computer. The money I withdrew from my Savings Bond is just sitting there doing nothing... but I just can't find the machine I want!

Here's my ideal specs:

4GB+ RAM
2.5GHz+ Processor speed
500GB+ Hard Disk
13 - 15" screen
Vista OS
DVD/RW
Bluetooth
Wireless enabled
Reasonably slimline

Am I being unreasonable? I've seen Desktops with 8GB, but laptops seem to stagnate around the 3GB mark. I've seen a couple with 4, but they tend to flounder at the 2GHz mark and rarely have more than 350GB storage. Maybe I should knock down my expectations a peg or two, but I want a powerhouse. I want something that can multitask like a mofo so that I can run Photoshop, ImageReady, Flash Pro, Online Gaming, two browsers with 15+ windows open in each, movies, two or three messengers, iTunes, WinAmp, and various standalone files and folders without coming to a screeching halt. I want something that I can store 100GB+ of music and movies and easily access what I need without lag. I want something that will let me play a saved OR streaming video without lag (assuming the connection is fair) and with minimum loading/buffering time. I want something compatible with whatever I choose to plug into it, assuming it's Vista-ready. But it still needs to be portable enough to travel with me to college on the bus.

I don't suppose anyone has any suggestions? :\

(PS: Rusty Ruin's bgm [Sonic 3D] is love ^^)

Thanks for the suggestions, Anon :) Alienware I've already crossed off; you pay too much just for a funky-looking machine. Lenovo looks interesting! The only downside is the limited Hard Drive space :\

It's not over until Clinton says it is, unfortunately.

Obama gives off this big aura of charisma and sexiness for me. Though I feel odd admitting it.^^;; But not ashamed.^_^

I still support Obama, but for some reason the people around him are so...disregardable. (i.e. his pastor and wife)

Although I must say McCain's economic policies sound interesting.

It's my birthday tomorrow! Too bad though, because as usual, it's smack dab in the middle of an exam.

McCain creeps me the hell out. O.o Just from looking at him, I can tell I'm not gonna vote for him. Call me crazy, but the guy reeks of... something. XD;

His (ex)pastor is an idiot, agreed. But Obama is awesome :)

Happy Birthday for tomorrow! Have a good one (despite the exam)!

Clinton is still running? >_> In any case, I do hope that it is Obama that wins this coming election. Go Obama!

Anyway, while I'm really good at building desktops, I actually have pretty limited knowledge on laptops, sadly.

A quick rundown on the spec's from my perspective:

4GB+ RAM <-- Laptops nowadays generally come with a minimum of 2GB of RAM, usually upgradeable to 4GB+. I think the most laptops have reached thus far is 16GB. Depends on which one you get really. One thing to keep in mind, though, you will need a 64-bit operating system that can address past the 32-bit windows kernel limit of 2.5GB.
2.5GHz+ Processor speed <-- You should have no problem getting one with a 2.4GHz C2D (Core 2 Duo) processor
500GB+ Hard Disk <-- I could be wrong but I don't think laptops come with 0.5TB of space yet. It's close I would imagine, since desktops are seeing TB HDD's, soon multi-TB ones.
13 - 15" screen <-- You should have no problem getting one of those or a widescreen display even.
Vista OS <-- Windows Vista is pretty much shipped on all laptops unless you want XP or in some cases, Linux. Although, Windows XP sales end in less than two months from now.
DVD/RW <-- Again, most laptops generally come with a DVD+/-RW + CD-RW combo drive
Bluetooth <-- hm.. not sure there.
Wireless enabled <-- Most laptops usually come with Wi-Fi.
Reasonably slimline <-- Depends on your definition of "slim" ^^

Ad und'as …
