~God knows I want to break free!~
Apr. 12th, 2008 01:27 pmWhoa... I've fallen so out of touch with LJ. That makes me sad... I used to post here so much, but lately I haven't posted much at all. Not that it matters, but it was kinda nice to feel like part of something. Oh well, it's not like the whole world will collapse if I don't post so often :P
I'd forgotten how tiring it is to have a full-time job. I'm not complaining; my job is really quite pleasant. The people I work with are really nice, and the work itself is all admin stuff so it's really not that challenging and a lot of it is actually really interesting. Plus I have a nifty NHS email address, whoo! But you know, work is work :P Working nine-til-five all week is tiring, as anyone with a job will agree I'm sure. But it's money, and money that I desperately need in these few months leading up to Uni.
I think I'm especially wiped out this weekend because I had a migraine attack in the early hours of Wednesday morning that knocked me out for 24 hours. Really, I slept pretty much all day Wednesday and then all night... then I went to work on Thursday and very very nearly fell asleep at my desk. And on Friday I was still exhausted. I enjoyed sleeping in 'til almost 11 today though. Mmm... sleep... so gooood...
I've switched to decaff :\ Hard to believe, since I love tea SO MUCH... but... I think the five or six uber-strong cups of tea I was having at work might have been a trigger in the migraine I had. So now I'm having a medium strength regular tea in the morning, and one when I get home, but only drinking decaff and fruit teas at work. It's a sad sacrifice, but these things must be done for the greater good!
My brother got into Farnborough. So, that means that both he and I are finally off to Uni this September, and my mom will be all alone in a five bedroom house in Bleadon for the first time ever. It'll be weird for her. I expect she'll have a party XD
I got hold of some of those old-school Sonic storybook 'novels' from the early 90's. The characterisations, I guess, are based on Fleetway more than anything else. They're British books, after all. But JESUS... they're awful! Tails is like a carbon-copy of Penfold from DangerMouse ^^; In fact, the dynamic with him and Sonic is so much like DM and Penfold that I can't help wondering if the author was inspired by them. The slang Tails uses in the books is VERY British to the point that it's absolutely hilarious. Also, he's dumb as a brick :D No wonder Sonic is almost permanently annoyed with him. I would be too. Although, Sonic is actually a total prick a lot of the time D: I did like the ending of one book though where Tails gets his revenge by throwing a mud ball at Sonic then running off laughing maniacally XD; Classy. Very classy. And one last thing; the books aren't shy about bashing Mario. They're not subtle at ALL. Height of the Nintendo/Sega rivalry? Yes.
Haha, so yeah, those books kept me amused a while. I also got hold of some Sonic Adventure gel pens with pen-toppers of Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Big, Eggman and a Chao. And 5 different Sonic wrist watches. And a Sonic mug and a couple other books. Yeeeeah, I went a bit eBay-mad on my first paypacket, but what'cha gonna do? I also bought some yummy treats from JList :D Pocky and Pretz and wasabi-flavor Doritos here I come!
Oh, and I got hold of Sonic Shuffle, too. Haven't decided whether to hook up my DC and give it a try yet or not.
Well, that'll do for today's update, I suppose. Catch ya later, LJ!

Date: 2008-04-12 12:39 pm (UTC)And I would reccomend getting a DC to play Sonic Shuffle, it's a pretty fun yet underated game, people always bash into it for being a "Mario Party Clone" I thought it was pretty fun myself =D
Sorry to hear about the migraine attack though :/

Date: 2008-04-12 03:45 pm (UTC)I've never heard of any Sonic novels before. But from the way you described them, that was probably a good thing.

Date: 2008-04-13 09:07 am (UTC)And omg, lucky. I want Sonic Shuffle too! I want more games, in general, for my Dreamcast, so ehh...
Oh, and don't worry about not updating the ol' LJ. Tis not compulsory to do so everyday Jai... I haven't updated mine in a small bit either. ^^;;

Date: 2008-04-13 04:48 pm (UTC)I've not heard of decaf tea (or maybe I have but our brands suck XD), but hey, it's great that you're taking measures to keep the migraines from taking over. :3 What brand is it, just for curiosity's sake?
HAHAHAHA Sonic Shuffle *is* like Mario Party, but, good god, it's FRUSTRATING if you're in single player and want to win. D| So it's MUCH BETTER with friends. I only play it for the mini-games. ;D I miss my friend who'd come over and play it with me. ;_;
(FYI I played this before Mario Party, so. XD)
P.S. SONIC HAS A SCARY MOUTH IN SHUFFLE, GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
