LJ OUTRAGE! 54 pages of it, on my last check.
On top of the Basic Accounts drama, there's new drama about LJ removing terms such as "fanfiction", "yaoi", "depression", "boys", "girls", "porn", "sex", "pain", "bisexuality" and "faeries"(?) from their Popular Interests statistical listings. Haha, LJ. Keep it comin'!
I had a somewhat odd dream last night. It's what I get for reading Archie Sonic and worrying about university stuff right before bed.
It was one of those dreams where I'm Tails, again. Except the setting was much more like this world. In fact, it seemed to be on the grounds of a rather large school/university building (there's the Uni influence, right there).
Knuckles and I were running through the outdoor grounds trying to get away from something. Knuckles was running faster than me, 'cause I was running on foot because I was too tired to fly. I was trying to keep up and not lose track of him. Apparently we'd been under some sort of mind-control and were supposed to attack Sonic (aaaand there's the Archie influence XD except that my brain decided to replace Mighty with Knuckles because I know him betterand he's also red), but we'd managed to get out of range of the control and we were trying to get away completely ^^; There was this outdoor obstacle course thing that I guess was supposed to be some kind of trap that we were supposed to navigate, but I was just kinda "O.o" and ran straight past it XD Traps only work if you HAVE to go through them!
Anyway, we ended up in a children's play area and we took refuge inside one of those hollow plastic cubes with shapes cut into the side that kids like to climb in and out of ^^; Not the most dignified hiding place, but it was decent enough. And we were discussing how we were going to defeat Robotnik this time (Mammoth Mogul doesn't exist in my dreamscape, apparently :P).
Then things got REALLY bizarre, 'cause Robotnik drove up into the middle of the playground in what can only be accurately described as the Turtles' Party Wagon from TMNT o.o Ahem. Interesting vehicle choice. Anyhow, we decided to attack it, despite both being totally exhausted. It didn't go very well. Well, not as well as expected. I couldn't fly. It was an interesting phenomenon actually. Usually in dreams I have a sense of 'lightness' to me. Like I'm not really feeling the influence of anything on my body; like I'm transcending physical sensation. Therefore, I move how I like. If I want to run fast, I run fast. If I want to jump far, I jump far. As long as it's something that seems reasonable to be able to do, I can do it. I'm at an apex of fitness where my energy is boundless and I don't even have to breathe, because I'm in a dream-state, and such things aren't important. But this dream was different because I was totally exhausted, and I felt it. Every limb felt really heavy, and I was really sleepy, even in my sleep. But the worst part was just knowing that I couldn't fly. It sucks; I can rarely fly very well or very far in my dreams as Tails, anyway. It takes a huge amount of effort and concentration. But usually I can manage it, at least a little. This time I was totally grounded, and I knew it.
So I did what I could, and jumped onto the front of the van. What happened next was almost comical if not for the fact that it was at my own expense. There wasn't anything to hold onto, so I was just basically trying to scramble up the windshield and not get thrown off by the way the vehicle was swerving all around. I don't really know WHAT I was trying to do beyond holding-on-for-dear-life. I think at one point I was going to try to disable theTMNT truck by climbing onto the back where all these cylinders were. But that really didn't happen. Robotnik was laughing his ass off the whole time. Knuckles was a little more successful and managed to scramble into the cab of the truck and wrestled with Robotnik, trying to get control of the vehicle. I think I found a safe leverage point and was just watching and cheering him on n.n; And I think that was when my mom woke me up.
And that was my odd dream. Turtle Party Wagon, what? XD
I am nervous as heck about tomorrow. The first couple of days at my new job were fine, but this week I have to be on the phones AND cover reception, as well as the usual varied admin work. Phones scare me. I can't believe my last job was in a call-centre. What was I THINKING? WAS I even thinking? Good questions. But anyway, I'll be taking calls to be directed to various social workers and stuff. I've decided not to blog much about my work, though, because most of it is dealing with pretty confidential stuff and even if I don't mention anything specific, I don't really feel right talking about any of it. Of course, if a computer blows up or I spill tea all down my lap, I'll certainly blog about that :D
So, I saw Jeremy Hardy live at the Weston Playhouse theatre last night. He was pretty good. I mean, he's incredibly left-wing and unashamedly socialist in his views, which made me worry a bit, because the majority of the audience was probably middle-aged conservative North Somerset villagers n.n; But amazingly, it went really well and the audience seemed to really like him, aside from the odd awkward silence when perhaps he pushed things a little too far. It was very refreshing to hear such liberal views about religion, sexuality, ethnicity and so on. He's a very funny and witty man, and a spot-on satirist, but I have to confess a little disappointment when I realized that one of his little 'anecdotes' was almost word-for-word ripped from a humor site I've visited online several times. Nevertheless, he kept up the pace solidly for a good two hours, and the evening was enjoyable.
The nachos with beef chilli, jalepeƱos, salsa and sour cream that I had beforehand were delicious too. Mm-mmm!
I've managed to get my paws on Mario & Sonic for DS and Sonic Riders 2 for PS2, but haven't actually played either of them yet. Guitar Hero III is on its way from Amazon. That, I will most certainly play. I love me some Guitar Hero, and I'm better at it than I thought I'd be. I haven't played much, so I'm not that good (I'm only up to Hard Mode), but I don't fail at it like I do with most other video games :P
Well, t'is midnight. Better get going. I'm sorry that I don't have anything interesting to blog about XD Maybe next time, eh? Ciao.

Yay Guitar Hero! I can't wait to hear what you think of III. You really do rock at that game! XD
That Jeremy Hardy guy stole something from a humor site? x.o that's not right... that's breaking the one of the cardinal rules of comedy! o.o Huh... well it's cool that he was good other wise... but it's always disappointing when you find out stuff like that...
And lastly, LJ and those interests x.x; oh boy. They really are trying to slowly kill themselves, huh? Or maybe they have fun taunting the masses n.n;; dunno.... I'm kinda afraid to see what they might be planning for April Fools n.n;;

Date: 2008-03-17 06:58 pm (UTC)I'm really amazed at how detailed your dreams are. I wish my brain worked that way...Oddly I wouldn't mind a detailed dream involving myself and Krang, Alien Warlord From Dimension X. 'Cause I'm just crazy that way.
Speaking of crazies, here's hoping you don't run into too many of them over the phones at work.
