***Merry merry Christmas!***
Dec. 25th, 2007 12:16 pmSonic 3's Angel Island Zone bgm as a musical composition in Smash Bros Brawl? HECK YES. The old-school nods in this game make me incredibly happy.
Anyhow...
As per Perea family tradition, the gifts were ripped open at the crack of dawn. Impatience is (not) a virtue?
Stuff I got for my family:
A Nokia phone and Terry Pratchet's "Making Money" novel for my mom.
'Joop!' aftershave and Acqua D'Gio body spray for my brother.
A bottle of good French merlot for my dad.
Stuff I received:
Slippers, a wallet, and a really nifty digital photo frame from my mom.
Guitar Hero Rocks the 80s (with the guitar, obviously) from my brother. Kick ass!
Awesome gifts indeed... not a bad haul! Oh yeah, and "Santa" gave me some Toblerone :P
I also received a cat. Seriously though, Fox seems to think he's one of my Christmas presents, as he's chosen to add himself to the pile on my bed. Check out the pile of festive fluff:

Aww, kitty!
Oh yeah, I also got my Sonic, Tails and Knux plushies from Play-Asia (on recommendation from Kelly). Well, two Sonics, one Tails and a Knux. They're soooo soft. The material is just incredibly wonderfully silky and soft. Hah, my mom isn't happy that I got more plushies, since I already have about 60. But Sonic plushies make me happy, eh.
Well, Christmas lunch will be ready soon! My mom's really gone out of her way today to make all the extras and trimmings. Chestnut sausage meat, stuffing, bread sauce, sausages wrapped in bacon, extra gravy... and that's all on top of the turkey, duck, potatoes, vegetables etc... Yum!
But on a more serious note, I have to say it's really nice to have all the family together here for Christmas. We don't really have an extended family, so "all the family" means just me, my brother, my mom and my dad. My brother really surprised me with how generous he was with his gift. It must have cost him at least £50! And my mom was just great, as always. And seeing my dad... he's pretty old now, and frail. Almost 80. Despite our history, I feel glad to have him here. I hope this can be a warm and peaceful Christmas where we can all just get along and enjoy being a family once again.
And to all my friends, I hope you find peace, happiness, warmth... whatever it is you want or need most right now. To those having a happy Christmas already, I'm so glad for you. And to those having a more stressful season, I wish you all the best and hope that you'll be touched by the holiday cheer at least in some small way.
As a final note; I consider myself to be a very very lucky person. I have family, friends, an amazing partner, a warm safe home, a job, a future. I may complain sometimes, because I'm not immune to feeling self-pity at times. But I know I have far more than so many people. So if any of you ever need anything, whether it's help, support, or just someone to talk to... well, I'll do what I can if you come to me. That's a promise (and perhaps the basis for a New Year's Resolution). I'm gonna try to feel less sorry for myself and be more helpful to others :)
Merry Christmas, everyone!

Date: 2007-12-25 12:35 pm (UTC)Guitar Hero? Nice. The only problem though, is that you need 6 fingers to play that game properly...
As for myself...I got all seasons of the Sopranos from DVD. I'm celebrating by watching tonight. Quite odd isn't it?
