So, tomorrow the Queen is visiting my mom's work place, and my mom will get to meet her in person as all the top-level staff will be personally introduced to her, and my mom is up there near the top o.o I'm... not phased, because I don't regard the Queen as any more amazing than anyone else (and a lot less amazing than a lot of people), but it's still kind of odd XD I have a ticket to get onto the grounds to watch her arrive and/or leave, although unlike my mom I can't enter the building or actually meet her, heh. I probably won't go. Yeah. Humongous crowds trapped behind police barriers to catch a fleeting glimpse of the back of the Queen's hat as her royal entourage escort her in is NOT quite my idea of fun n.n; But my "ADMIT ONE" ticket is an interesting keepsake XD; Long live the Queen! Or something.

Know what's funny? I think Americans are more fascinated by the British Royal Family than actual British people are... XD

You guys can have her ^^; It's not like she actually DOES anything. Except for officially 'opening' buildings that have actually been open for a year already. And wearing hats. Lots of huge frilly hats.

Well since most Americans are weak-minded sheep anyway, I think she'd feel right at home =P

I like hats.

Eh, the royal family is interesting as a historical relic, I guess.

Yay, someone else who doesn't go nuts over the queen who lives in this country! XD

She never does anything, and the concept of monarchy bothers me full stop anyway, lol

XD Yeah... it's all for decoration, really. Kinda silly, but eh, oh well...

Yeah, I just don't like the idea that at one time people became all god like because "it is god's will" or some other crap like that, sure democracy isn't perfect but I'm sure I prefer that, at least there's some chance I can control or decide who makes the laws for where I live

Queens and Kings are overated anyway, to quote Jai "It's not like she actually DOES anything. Except for officially 'opening' buildings that have actually been open for a year already. And wearing hats. Lots of huge frilly hats."

What more can I say?

I'm not crazy about the idea of monarchy and royalty and stuff, but by what I've read about her, this particular queen has proven herself to be a pretty good ceremonial leader, as much as her position allowed. Plus, she managed to sit in the same room as my country's president without socking him one or calling him stupid--that gets some respect in my book.

Nonetheless, I wouldn't want to stand in line and watch her enter and/or exit a building either.

Heh... if you really want to listen to Queen, I can send you "Don't Stop Me Now" or "We Will Rock You" XD *shot*

Aye, I'm not one for ZOMGSHROYALTY!1!1!! stuff. I don't really care about the Royal Family and all that. And I agree, it's not my idea of fun either... I just can't stand crowds. ;_;

Crowds are icky ^^; All that noise and pushing and lack of air/space... and for what? We have to be there by 1.30 but she doesn't even arrive until 3.15 o.o And the forecast is for rain. Heavy rain n.n; There's flood warnings even. No way am I standing out in that just to see a glimpse of Her Majesty :P

I have several Queen albums ^^ I just couldn't be bothered to dig them out. But I felt the name was apt XD;

Oh, you got forecasts for rain as well? Heh... I'm kinda used to rain... you're talking to a girl who was raised on Morris Dancing in Wales here! Yush, that's why I swear a lot in my entries. XP *shot*

*coughs* Annnyyywwwaayyy... Queen are awesome. Seeing the Queen is just so over-rated though. I wouldn't go see her in that weather if you paid me £1,000,000 AND promised me a holiday somewhere exotic and far away. Just not worth the potential pneumonia if ye ask me.

The best part of this by FAR is getting to rub your dad's face in it. XD That's enough to tip your hat to the Queen for.
