Aww crap :(

>/ Bloody thunderstorms. I HAET J00. ... ahem. Yeah, I should be home by then, if they even come at all. I just... really don't like 'em. Although, granted, I'm not as paranoid as I used to be XD;; Hiding under my bed whenever the weather forecast came on just in case they said there'd be storms. Yeah, I was THAT bad.

Anyway, I've gotta get going to that preliminary interview at Esporta now ^_^ Wish me luck!

Edit: Yay, I'm back.

Well, it went fine. I decided to get a cab there since I was terrified of mistiming the two buses. £7! That's outrageous. It only cost me £20 to Bristol Airport, and Esporta is MUCH closer! Ugh. So anyway, the interview.

It was fine. I handed in my CV too, and now I just have some forms to fill in and then they'll get back to me. The only thing I'm a little concerned about is that some of the shifts start at 6am and some end at 10pm n.n; The buses in this backwater town don't run during either of those periods, and I don't drive, so getting there and back could be problematic. Oh, and the club is pretty exclusive and the staff are expected to be on first name terms with all their 'guests'... a slight hurdle for me given that I am 100% useless at remembering names OR faces, let alone MATCHING them ^^; Oh well... If I even get called back in, I'll cross those bridges when I come to them.

So, due to the insane price of the taxi, and the fact that I STILL couldn't figure out which bus from outside the club was going in my direction, I decided to walk back into town and get a bus home from there. Which would have been fine if it hadn't started to POUR with rain the moment I stepped outside the club. So I pretty much ran for a solid ten minutes until I found refuge in a convenience store. Of course, sheltering in there I kind of felt obliged to buy something. I don't know what possessed me, but I bought a bottle of Powerade. It's extremely sugary, costs twice as much as water, is BRIGHT orange, and tastes like washing up liquid. Plus it's endorsed by Wayne Rooney. Next time I'll just buy water x.x

Aaanyhow, FINALLY made it back into town, soaking wet, out of breath, and hungry as heck. So I figured I'd buy lunch for myself at the bakery or something. But of course... my bus has to arrive JUST then. And I'd have to wait an hour for the next one. Strange, isn't it? That goshdarn bus NEVER comes when I want it to, but as soon as I actually want to do something in town, it shows up right on cue.

But finally there came a small saving grace. The ticket machine on the bus was broken, so everyone got a free ride, yeah!! XD Free bus!! ... the only downside being that the driver took us on a weird detour to avoid the other bus stops, and I had to get off about 10 minutes away from my usual stop (and it was still raining). But I stopped at the Farm shop and picked up the weekly paper (yay for the Weston Mercury!) and some lunch. Of course, that 'lunch' turned out to be a pastry that was soggy as hell and entirely not worth the £1.79 I spent on it ;_; Oh well, I'm home now and griping to my LJ, so it's all good!

(*prod* Here... I'll trade you this... um... delicious chicken pastry for your peanut butter jelly sandwich... Aww, c'mon, pleeeese?)

oooh wow o.o what a day! Aww, I'm so glad that the interview went well! Matching faces and names would probably take a while, but I'm sure you could do it! Anyway, that's great... but gah.. the bus and the rain and all that... not so nice! And soggy pastry? Extra nnot nice... but you made it! Yay!

*gives you towel fresh out of the drier and a fresh-baked, non-soggy muffin!* <3

I'm one of those crazy people that likes thunderstorms. o.o; XD But then, I've also grown up in earthquake country. So I guess boom-shaky stuff is in my blood or something.

I'm crossin' my fingers for your callback though~ :3 Even if you're not that great with faces, seeing the same people day after day will help you learn real fast. And it sounds like it went well enough! Great job~

Aww, thanks Chasey :) And I'm sure you're right... I'd get used to it ^^ I did when I was a library assistant, so I'm sure this wouldn't be huuuugely different.

A lot of places that have shifts starting and ending at stupid times will reimburse you for cabs, if that is what you need to do. The place I worked at in Scotland for two years gave everybody cabs before 7 am or after 11 pm, it cost 1 pound from your paycheque for each cab ride and the cabbie would give you a piece of paper to give your boss, and the cab company was paid directly each week. They might have something like that, a lot of places do. If they don't, they should. I'm surprised none of us ever took advatage of the cabs to take us out to parties in the suburbs or anything, though the temptation was always there!

Is it an orange-chocolate-chip cookie? I had one last night and it was the nicest cookie ever ;_;

Sorry about the flooding situation. That's no fun. It floods around here a lot too, since I live near the sea and several major rivers ^^;

Hmm... I guess I could find out about it, although the woman who interviewed me didn't say anything except that she thought I might have problems getting there if the buses don't run outside their hours :\

Orange... and chocolate... in a cookie? Fascinating. But, I like orange liqueur chocolates... and orange-mocha lattes... you may have a point.

(The MOST fun is when the anime store floods and we scramble around tryng to move things.)

I hate storms as well. But I worry about what the news people say about the weather here because 99.9% of times it's wrong.

They will say that it is sunny today and going to rain tomorrow. Tomorrow gets here and it is sunny and they say that today is sunny and tomorrow is going to rain. Every so ofter they will change it and then still sometimes they are wrong :P

Oh, and the club is pretty exclusive and the staff are expected to be on first name terms with all their 'guests'... a slight hurdle for me given that I am 100% useless at remembering names OR faces, let alone MATCHING them ^^; Oh well... I am bad at remembering names or faces when I meet someone, if I meet them again I am trying to remember their name and then the next time I sometimes remember their name :P

I hate it when it starts raining as soon as you get out >_<

I think we have Powerade in Australia, not really sure... I normally have Staminade or Gaterade

Goal?

Packerchu: Huh, Those storm clouds look like MN...

TRod: ^o0.Oo()^ MEEEP!

... McGee: Hey, Maybe you should give Wayne Rooney's that pastry. After all, He downs that sports drink stuff, so he doesn't give a hoot about taste.
