~The sacrifice is never knowing...~
Jun. 15th, 2007 09:56 amAww crap :(

>/ Bloody thunderstorms. I HAET J00. ... ahem. Yeah, I should be home by then, if they even come at all. I just... really don't like 'em. Although, granted, I'm not as paranoid as I used to be XD;; Hiding under my bed whenever the weather forecast came on just in case they said there'd be storms. Yeah, I was THAT bad.
Anyway, I've gotta get going to that preliminary interview at Esporta now ^_^ Wish me luck!
Edit: Yay, I'm back.
Well, it went fine. I decided to get a cab there since I was terrified of mistiming the two buses. £7! That's outrageous. It only cost me £20 to Bristol Airport, and Esporta is MUCH closer! Ugh. So anyway, the interview.
It was fine. I handed in my CV too, and now I just have some forms to fill in and then they'll get back to me. The only thing I'm a little concerned about is that some of the shifts start at 6am and some end at 10pm n.n; The buses in this backwater town don't run during either of those periods, and I don't drive, so getting there and back could be problematic. Oh, and the club is pretty exclusive and the staff are expected to be on first name terms with all their 'guests'... a slight hurdle for me given that I am 100% useless at remembering names OR faces, let alone MATCHING them ^^; Oh well... If I even get called back in, I'll cross those bridges when I come to them.
So, due to the insane price of the taxi, and the fact that I STILL couldn't figure out which bus from outside the club was going in my direction, I decided to walk back into town and get a bus home from there. Which would have been fine if it hadn't started to POUR with rain the moment I stepped outside the club. So I pretty much ran for a solid ten minutes until I found refuge in a convenience store. Of course, sheltering in there I kind of felt obliged to buy something. I don't know what possessed me, but I bought a bottle of Powerade. It's extremely sugary, costs twice as much as water, is BRIGHT orange, and tastes like washing up liquid. Plus it's endorsed by Wayne Rooney. Next time I'll just buy water x.x
Aaanyhow, FINALLY made it back into town, soaking wet, out of breath, and hungry as heck. So I figured I'd buy lunch for myself at the bakery or something. But of course... my bus has to arrive JUST then. And I'd have to wait an hour for the next one. Strange, isn't it? That goshdarn bus NEVER comes when I want it to, but as soon as I actually want to do something in town, it shows up right on cue.
But finally there came a small saving grace. The ticket machine on the bus was broken, so everyone got a free ride, yeah!! XD Free bus!! ... the only downside being that the driver took us on a weird detour to avoid the other bus stops, and I had to get off about 10 minutes away from my usual stop (and it was still raining). But I stopped at the Farm shop and picked up the weekly paper (yay for the Weston Mercury!) and some lunch. Of course, that 'lunch' turned out to be a pastry that was soggy as hell and entirely not worth the £1.79 I spent on it ;_; Oh well, I'm home now and griping to my LJ, so it's all good!
(*prod* Here... I'll trade you this... um... delicious chicken pastry for your peanut butter jelly sandwich... Aww, c'mon, pleeeese?)
