Hol~ee... It's 4:20AM o.o
I was watching the comments on LJ's news thread until they maxed out at 5,000 on page 100. And somehow a number of hours passed XD; Whoopsie. Heh, sunrise... Anyway, LJ drama is pretty fun to watch. Heh. This one's a big-un.
Anyhow... playing Pokémon Diamond at last. Only started this afternoon, so I only have two gym badges so far. It's an awesome game though. I'm really 'digging' the underground area ;) Heh... sometimes I get a sort of shivery thrill when I battle that reminds me of the old days when I was completely and solidly immersed in Pokémon/TR fandom. A part of me will always be there.
Sooo... looks like my dad might actually have a case for a lawsuit against my mom x.o Apparently, when I was 5, my dad part-owned the apartment we lived in while we were in Wimbledon. That's to say, he paid a small amount towards it and the deeds were jointly in his name and my mom's. He was never around, and eventually my mom had to remortgage the apartment to cover her finances, and the deeds went singularly into her name since she was the only one making payments now. However, my dad's now claiming that since the apartment was partially in his name originally, and he put money towards the original purchase, he should have received part of the sale proceeds when my mom eventually sold up and we moved into a house in Sutton. Never ind that he lived off my mom the entire time while he was in the UK. Never mind that he never paid anything towards our food, upkeep, lives... he still feels he has a right to that money right now. And scarily, he might have a case.
Also, my dad occasionally sent some money from his bank in Colombia to my mom's account. He did that because he can't access his bank here, so he would send the money to my mom's account and then my mom would give it to him in cash while he was here. Now he's saying he has the documents to prove that he sent her that money, and he's denying that my mom gave it back to him. And she can't prove that she gave it to him in cash.
Right now, he's living in an apartment that my mom is PAYING for. Yet he still wants to sue her for more money.
Oh, and he gets free legal aid because he doesn't have an income. My mom will have to pay upwards of £6,000 for a decent solicitor. Even if she wins the legal battle, she'll be the loser financially. ARGH.
And I had to go on the phone to him, because my mom wanted to see if I could persuade him to back down and let him see that he'd be hurting my brother and me if he does this. He doesn't give a damn. He wants to settle a supposed score, and to hell with us in the process. If my mom were to lose her job or something, we'd all be homeless. But that wouldn't matter as long as my dad has his legal victory! >.>
Sorry, that degraded into another dad-rant. I'm just so ANGRY. I never got along with him and he's always been a complete deadbeat father who's caused a great deal of emotional pain and hardship to my family... but I never imagined he could do something as hurtful and callous as this.
Oh boy, 4:30AM... bedtime... yeah...
