~And it's painful, but it's worth it...~
Mar. 28th, 2007 04:11 pmNooooo...!! The regional AND national weather forecasts for tomorrow and Friday both indicated heavy hailstorms and... thunderstorms. Complete with the little flashing thundercloud symbol. If it storms, I shall not be a happy fox. ;_;
Anyway, the Archie Sonic comic can bite me >.> It's been totally messing with my head lately ._. Most of it is just... well... crap, as far as my personal interpretation of the Sonicverse goes. And that's fine. But then there are little bits here and there that just... fit. Y'know, they seem right; amid all the rampant fanservice and badfic plots and recolors and strangulated storylines that just need to DIE already, there's a few little snippets that actually make a lot of sense. For the most part, Archie is a melodramatic soap opera, riddled with plotholes and waaaay too many characters and a million different artistic style/writing conflicts with an incredibly difficult to define 'canon' (and several spin-off side-stories that seem to fit neither here nor there). Yet I keep reading. Maybe I'm a masochist, but something keeps bringing me back x.o
The latest issue wasn't so bad, actually.
It's about damn time that Antoine proposed to Bunnie! Of course, it was obvious from a mile away... but finally, they're engaged, and gosh darnit they're so cute together ;_; I support Bunnie/Antoine whole-heartedly, and I hope the writers will KEEP them together... although, it being Archie Sonic, what are the chances of that x.o And obviously something big a'this way comes... they're clearly building up to a huge showdown between the core Freedom Fighters, and 'buttnik. Could potentially go ANY number of ways.
I wasn't too keen on the blatant Sonic/Sally hints that issue threw up though. So sue me, I'm not a Sonally fan, for obvious reasons, but eh. Again, this is Archie Sonic, based ultimately on the canon of SatAM, so... yeah. It's always gonna come back to Sonic and Sally. So be it ^^;
The Chao Garden story was hilarious XD Chronic and Chails and CHUCKLES! Ha... I love Sonic and his silly rivalry with Knuckles. It makes me roll my eyes, but at the same time it makes me secretly grin until my face hurts. I hope they never faze that out n.n Also, the Chao clinging to Knux's dreads while Knux was still trying to look all hardcore and badass was just classic. I could never be bothered with seriously raising Chao, but seeing Sonic, Tails and Knuckles playing with the Chao in the garden was just heartwarming and ridiculously fluff-inducing.
So, yeah, not a bad issue at all ^^ I'm actually considering setting up a subscription as soon as I have ANY money at all. £1.40-ish per month isn't gonna break my bank account. Hopefully the comics will be safe to my mental health so long as Fiona doesn't come back (EVER, kthxbai plz). I'm also gonna download all the comics so far, starting with #1, from TKA, so I can read them through properly, from A to Z. During which time I will probably end up having at least one nervous breakdown, but oh well n.n;
Oh...oh! Gamestation is hiring!! If I work there, maybe I can get discounts off their awesome Sonic t-shirts XD ... why yes, my life does revolve around Sonic, thank you very much.

Date: 2007-03-28 05:07 pm (UTC)get staff discounts on all that cool stuff like Sonic t-shirts, retro games... the Wii..work in a game's shop. ^^And I ended up getting caught in the thunderstorm on the way home, me was so wet. ;_; I ended up hiding underneath my blanket playing Pokemon Emerald and blasting music from my mobile phone to try and stop myself from hearing the thunder and the rain and... well, I'm not scared of thunder, but I do find the sound irritating. -_-;;
And call me bizarre, but I like raising Chao... Hero Chao. ^^;; (Oh, and my Sonic Chao XD). I just like raising Chao using Sonic, Tails and Knuckles (although I tend to play as Sonic more often than the other two).
I saw some cool Sonic t-shirts the other day... if only I had the money! ;_;

EITHER WAY, I agree with you on the whole Archie thing. I chose the Archie Sonic comic over the Archie Sonic X issue that was celebrating Sonic's birthday (I think he was transported to...Green Hill Zone again?) I didn't like it. Although there was ONE PART I did like, where Mammoth Mogul said "Stay out of this for once in your life, you insufferable wench" and caught Sonic in his giant...summoned...hand thing. BUT then Sir Connery died! A noble sacrifice, but seriously, as far as I know it was awesome.
...Apparently Archie also had Big the Cat punch Eggman in the face...so you gonna give them points for THAT, right? RESPECT BIG'S AUTHORITY!
Chao Garden! ZOMG. MY ETERNAL WEAKNESS. And that site has...all of the issues too? *goes there*
...Oh, and good luck landing the helicopter museum job! *gets hit for bad pun* It wasn't intentional!

Date: 2007-04-01 03:30 am (UTC)AHHHH, NOW I REMEMBER! I saw Antoine on a cartoon recently and all I could think of was you! xD
HE IS SO CUTE. And a bit of a scaredy-cat. ^^;
Don't remember seein' Bunnie, though. Just a naked Sallly. At least, I think it was Sally. The style I wasn't used to...
Can someone explain why she was naked? o.o It kept distracting me from the episode itself.
And Robotnik actually looked /scary./ -squeak-
