... I had my interview at Newport School of Art, Media and Design today. It went pretty well.

However, I decided to switch from Computer Games Design over to Animation, instead. I think it suits me better. What I love in video-games has never actually been the gaming itself. It's the characters and the worlds and the story and narrative that keeps me interested. I don't really want to make games. I want to tell stories. But the cool thing with Animation is you can take it to a video game company and still get hired. So I can still choose that path if I want. But for the long haul, three/four years in Uni, I think Animation is more where I wanna be.

Also, I can now add Wales to the list of countries I've visited: England (where I live), Ireland, France, Spain, Cyprus, Gran Canaria, Italy, North America, and now Wales ^_^ Shame about the £5.10 crossing toll though; not cheap! And getting a little lost in Caerleon... I kept missing the signs in English because the Welsh translations were distracting me. Welsh is a pretty language... but I still don't understand how any word can start with "ysb" XD (I know, I know, some of the roman letters adapted make very different sounds in Welsh, but I can't help that it looks odd to me :P). I think I'd like it in Newport... the surrounding areas are very green and hilly, and it's only 40 miles away, which is less than an hour by car.

I haven't decided on Newport though. I like it, but there's still other schools to see!

Haha, YSB. What, "Yahoo Service Broadband," or something? I will always think of that now. You've been to a lot of places, I've never been outside of the US and I really want to go somewhere else one day.

It's also good to hear you're finding out what you want to do with your life's education. I hope you get somewhere awesome. MAKE ME AN ANIME CHARACTER C'MON.

Aww, it's a shame :\ It seems a lot of my American friends have never actually been outside the US. Then again, the US is so big that you can find almost any climate/holiday resort you'd want without ever having to leave the country XD

The only Welsh word I know of beginning with "ysb" is Ysbyty (hospital). And try not to let the Welsh put you off... just read the English and ignore the other language. XD

Don't even attempt saying the words though... a previous friend of mine pronounced the Welsh word "Brynbuga" (which is Usk, a place near where I live) as "brain bugger". ^^;; The actual way to pronounce is "brin-boog-er" XD

Brain bugger? ^^;;; That's... kinda hilarious. Ooo, I saw signs for Usk while I was down there! I also noticed that the Welsh for 'Services' (like, motorway rest-stop services) is scarily long o.o Then again, Wales has the town with the longest name in the records, doesn't it? I can't remember much of it, but it ends in Gogh-Gogh-Gogh... I think ^^;

Yes, it ends in Gogogoch. But I don't remember the entire name. I won a bet to a bunch of boys in my Welsh class before though. They said they'd give me £1 if I could say the name. I did... and the looks on their faces. XD

I think that long town name has something to do with the Virgin Mary resting in a red cave of some sort... I dunno.

But most of the towns here have Welsh names. For example, my home town Pontypool which is Pont-y-pwl (put a roof over the w, you know ^ symbol) is "Bridge over Water".

Another close town Cwmbran is "Valley of the Crows"... but it should be "Valley of the Roundabout" cos there seems to be an infinite supply of roundabouts in Cwmbran. XD

Services = Gwasanaethau, I think.

Speaking of roundabouts, we took a wrong turning and ended up going through about a million roundabouts and wound up in the Leeway Industrial Estate O.o We were kinda like "o.o ... 'kay, the college isn't here." ^^; It was fun, although my mom had to keep saying "Way-als" in a fake Welsh accent and got me saying it too... she's so daft sometimes, but she makes me laugh.

Ah, hooray for the daft families! If you ever hear my voice or somehow *coughs* meet up with me, you'll notice I don't really have the Welsh accent. Nor do I have the Pontypool accent (think of a chav... that's the Pontypool accent XP) But I do a mighty fine chav impression.

Getting lost in Wales can be fun though, especially if you've lived here all your life and you SHOULD know your way around the place. XD

Its MPF from TTR here

Newport is a nice place (I live in West Wales myself), however the Welsh alphabet is different from that of the English one, anyway.

The toll cross is terrible though, I think the Welsh Assembly government should buy the seventh bridges and make it free.

Anyway good luck with whatever location you choose to study, and I hope you do well in course.

Thanks MPF! I hope it all goes well too. And yeah, the toll is awful... but at least it's only one-way. Funny how I have to pay to get IN to Wales, but it's free to leave ^^;
