~Those cats were fast as lightning~
Mar. 6th, 2007 09:28 pmI never seem to stop, lately O.o I think this must be karma's revenge for me being so slothful these past years n.n; Anyway, tomorrow I'm off to Newport (hi ShadDingo! I'll be near where you are! ^^) for an Interview at the University of Wales' Newport School of Art, Media and Design. The course I applied for is 'Computer Games Design'. Eee, I'm hopeful! It's only an hour away by car. I can even come back on some weekends if I get in! I mean... most of all I'd like to go to the same Uni as Jei, but the only one we both applied for and can get into together is Staffordshire... and Jei's first choice Uni is Hertfordshire, so... it might be that we go to different schools :\ Which would be sad... and we'd be at least 4 hours apart. But heck, that's a HELL of a lot closer than we are now! ^____^ Sure, I won't be able to pop over and see her at the drop of a hat, but I can see her on occasional weekends and of course for half-term breaks etc. I can't wait to show her the Winter Carnival in November!! Ooo, I hope it works out![/extremely excited]
Heh, Helios asked (rhetorically, I'm sure) why I get so many comments on my posts ^^; To address that, I think that, some of the time at least, it's just 'cause people get talking, often even just me and one or two of the commenters. So really, there's not as many individual people commenting as it might seem. Having said that, most of my posts do get a fair few replies... I'm not quite sure why that is n.n; I'm not particularly popular, and my posts aren't always terribly interesting... I guess it's a mystery! o.o I guess maybe it's partially due to the fact that I don't post with the goal of getting comments (unless I particularly want input on an issue), and that makes people feel more inclined to comment? I'm sure some sort of complex psychiatry must be in play... or maybe I'm just reading too much into it :P Another simple reason could just be the fact that I've accumulated quite a few LJ-friends over the past few years, and just having that many people who've friended me means I get comments. It's (yet another) mystery how I got so many friends considering what an antisocial creature I am XD I don't often make the first move in asking people if they wanna be LJ-friends. But I do post a lot in various communities, so I suppose I get fairly well known just by... well... being there. [/psychoanalysis]
Oh lordy... that doorbell chime has GOT to go. It plays the first bar of "O Lord Our God, Thy Children Call", and not only that, but it's HORRIBLY off-key n.n;; It sounds like someone dropped a badly-tuned accordion down the stairs like a Slinky. Is it too much to ask for just a simple #Ding-Dong!# chime? Pleaaaase? [/musical (dis)appreciation]
Fox is being a little kinder to me now. He's still climbing all over me and getting in my face (cat-butt, eww), but at night (for the most part) he's snuggling up against me and letting me sleep. He did wake me at 6:00 AM again by mewing and climbing on top of me, but he settled down again pretty quick. I think he's getting used to the new house. Just have to be careful that he doesn't get out n.n; It wouldn't be good if he tried to find his way back to London. I'm hoping he'll eventually be an outdoor kitty again - the fields behind the house are just PERFECT for him to run around in! - but he's got to get adjusted to being here, first. [/Fluff-bunny]
WHOA O_O I found my Multimedia ACCESS Work folder! All my Flash, Director, PhotoShop, FreeHand, ImageReady etc work... including my speeeeeding bullet train and my Japan rising sun intro, and of course all my Freedom Fox Graphics logos etc ^^ If I save them to disc, I'll actually have a decent portfolio to present at Newport tomorrow. If anyone wants to see my silly project thingies (they're a bit not-great, but eh), here's a couple:
This is just a train. That you can stop and start with buttons :P I was kinda proud of the train and the background, since it was the first such thing I made in Flash
This was an interactive 'Introduction to Japan' program I started. It has sound, although minimal. I was kinda proud of the dragon and how it moves ^^ It needs some neatening up, but it was a work in progress.
Aaand those were some of the logos I made for my imaginary company, Freedom Fox Graphics, la.
Me just messing around with a picture of Sonic XD
There's some other stuff, a fair bit, but that's enough XD It's not great, but I'm just SO glad I found it because I had NO portfolio without it ^^; Of course, that was some time ago. I hope I've improved since then ^^; I need to get back into Flash, because I loves me some Flash playin' ^^ [/random idiocy?]
Okay, clearly I'm running out of things to say x.o Time for me to zoom. ::Whoosh:: [/here]

Date: 2007-03-06 10:58 pm (UTC)Despite being an "antisocial" creature, you are/were active a lot on the mystic boards and got quite some attention.
Aside from that the whole sontails.com site which apparantly you are the owner off, which also isn't particurly unpopulair.
I think the whole support/fandom of the sontails pairing may even be one of the reasons of the popularity.
Aside from that, people just think your nice and that reputation spreads quickly over message boards.
Interesting choice to take computer games design though :)
Hopefully you will succeed!
Would be nice to see your work end up in a agame sometime.
