Comin' up fast!
Aug. 2nd, 2010 08:11 pmSummer of Sonic is in five days. Going to London for it in four. Jei arrives back in the UK in two. It's all happening, folks!
My mum's away at the funeral of her cousin today. He's the first of 'her' generation to pass away, so it's got her kinda introspective and sad about her own age. I keep telling her she's ten years younger than him and he died young anyway, and she's so healthy and young-seeming anyway but eh... I did offer to go with her to the funeral, but the train was expensive and I don't know anyone there anyway so she said she'd just go herself. Now she's been stuck at Paddington all afternoon because her rail-card doesn't let her use any trains until after 7pm. When she gets home I need to give her a BIG hug. Biggest hug ever.
Regarding SoS: If anyone is going to be around on the Friday night, we are all planning a meal at Wetherspoons. We'll be meeting at the Grantly Hotel in Shepherd's Bush at @ 7pm (the hotel where a good portion of SoS attendees, including myself and Jei, are staying ♥). Again, if anyone wants my cellphone number, just ask and I'll PM it to ya for meets and/or directions n' such.
So... um... apparently Miles likes psy-trance (psychedelic trance) music :| I now have three folders of the stuff. He would just happen to love a genre of music that I personally really do not like ^^; It's just noise to me and kinda makes me feel sick (I guess I'm hypersensitive to all the weird frequencies and sound and the pulsating beats). But yeah, he can listen for hours and it actually kinda seems to mellow him out n.n; He also seems to like Fox, my cat, which was a relief because I was afraid he'd wanna kick him or something, given the disdain with which he regards most living things. But no, he actually likes Fox, although he refuses to call him anything other than 'Cat' ^^;
I also noticed that when he's 'fronting', he's a lot more clumsy than me, and I'm pretty damn clumsy. I'm putting that down to him still not being used to my clutzy big human body. He was making a hot drink in my kitchen the other night and pretty much bumping into everything and knocking stuff over all over the place (and then cursing). I figure he'll get used to it if he has control enough. I know he's not happy with my form (human, female, moderately unfit), but I can't do much about the first two and I'm working on the last.
Aaanyway, still got a bunch of stuff to write up for SoS... then tomorrow I'm finally getting my hair cut, just in time for the event. Ugh. It'll be such a relief. I hate when it's long like this and all in my eyes and dripping down my back when I take a shower. I really wanted my usual colours put in ;_; But I just can't afford it this time. I'm hoping to make a little bit of dough at SoS by selling comics and a few other bits and bobs, so perhaps some of that can go to it after other expenses (like rent @_@) are paid off.
Better get back to work, hey-ho. Laters!
