Lol Nick Clegg :)

flyboy_foxI've never joined a political party before, but then I've never really been into politics before. I voted in the last election (for the Lib Dems), but I never really took the time to properly ask myself, and the parties involved, the important questions. This year, maybe partially as a result of the Obama/McCain hype of the USA's last election, and maybe partly because of the degree of shake-up this year, I've found myself VERY interested in what's going on. I want to be part of it. So I've had my eyes glued to all the different news websites, my ears affixed to the radio, reading manifestos, watching interviews and debates, researching specific issues.
As a result, I have joined the Liberal Democrats' party. I got my membership number today. I support them more than ever.
Speaking of which, bizarrely and almost completely accidentally I almost got to see Nick Clegg in person yesterday D: ALMOST.
I met Jei in town after her class and she told me she'd seen a Lib Dem campaign bus parked outside the Bournemouth International Centre just up the road near the beach, and a large crowd of people and camera crews. So I decided to walk up there and see what was going on. After asking around, I found out that it wasn't just an MP publicity thing - Nick Clegg was actually inside the building talking to the Royal College of Nursing nurses and students :3 Everyone was waiting outside for him to come out afterwards. I was pretty excited XD; I've never seen a party leader in person before, and this guy is MY party leader :3 So wait wait wait... nothing... and then finally his aide comes outside to tell us that Nick Clegg has already gone - he escaped out the back D: Coward! I was pretty gutted, but eh, what can you do? ♥
I did get a picture of his snazzy campaign bus though!
Disclaimer: I may be a bit of a Lib Dems fanboy/girl/thing right now, but I respect everyone the same whether you vote Lib, Lab, Con, Green or Monster Raving Loon ;) Please, just vote!
