Daaaamn, I feel good.

Maktub Absinthe Verte is some crazy shit, mmm. Just pour the ice water over the sugar cubes on the eyespoon and yeah it's all good.

I can totally see why absinthe was Oscar Wilde's greatest muse (and daemon).

FFFFFFFFFFFF.

I could get lost in this for hours. Lucid dreaming is greeeeaaaat.

Hah.

You sound kind of like a hippie. By which I mean to say, you sound super mellow and relaxed. But I guess that was your point.^_~

Hippie is good. It's just nice to feel so chiiiill and relaxed, y'know? Hee... I'm like super happy and just wanna hug people and tell them how awesome the world is... this is like a magical cure to all of the ills in the world I swear and I don't ever wanna wake up.

Yesss... it's a metal spoon with patterns in it that are holes, and you put the sugar cube on it and drip ice water onto it, over the cup with the absinthe in. And the water dissolves the sugar and mixes with the absinthe. Traditionally the spoon pattern is the shape of an eye, 'cause absinthe was supposed to have vision enhancing effects or some shit. Yeah. Feels gooood.

I've heard alcohol takes away the inhibitions. So, maybe this is how you really are deep down, and all you need to be that way all the time without the altering substance is some time.^_^

Well. I do have a stick up my ass most of the time... but I dunno if this is really me either XD;; I mean, I AM drunk... but hey, it's nice to feel this way. Maybe I can remember how nice life looked, when I'm sober, and try to see it the same way. All music and easy thrills and a feeling of peace and everything is gonna be okay. It seems to me a healthier outlook than the pessimistic one I usually have XD

Also, why are you Amy? o.o

There's a saying that a journey begins with the first step, so even though you're under the influence of something right now, maybe you can, as you mentioned, remember how you felt now and use to help you in your daily life.^^

Oh, and the Amy icons are my way of taking the stick out of my ass, basically.^_~ While I certainly don't believe that I am Amy, and am still possessed of the notion that I am a Purple Cat Emerald Guardian Princess Thing-a-ma-jig, I do look up to Amy quite a bit, and using her to represent me is a nice reminder for me to lighten up.^^

Lighten up? But Amy's so obsessive... hah... she's okay though. I don't mind her like I used to. She's an alright girl... I kinda respect her in a weird way actually, though you'd never see me say that when I'm sober! Heck, at least she knows what she wants, right? She's determined and optimistic and she follows her heart, no matter what. I guess there's something to be said for that.

From: [identity profile] violettsukino.livejournal.com
Heh, admittedly, I used to see Amy as a rather unhealthy mess of mental issues.XD But I guess lately, I've been gradually viewing her who has an unusual world view and strange goals on the surface, but who is able to channel that passion and obsessiveness in a way that allows her a certain inner peace. Like, she's selfish, but in a way that allows her to be incredibly compassionate at the same time.

...I'm not sure that made sense.XD But I guess to me, she's like a female Sonic. Honest, simple, driven, and possessing the innocence of a child, but without most of the immaturity.

But yeah, you put it very well, in much fewer words than I would use.XD Determined, optimistic, and follows her heart, I'd like to be that sort of person, some day.^^

I'm not entirely surprised that you respect her.^^ You may not have, understandably, always liked her, but everything you've told me suggests that you did have a great love for her as a friend, all the same.^^

Icon appropriate!

... I miss her.

She would totally hit me with her mallet if she knew I was drunk right now XD

Heh, even though that would hurt, it sounds oddly adorable.XD

I dunno. It's weird lately. I can't remember ever having known her, but sometimes it's like I can feel her, almost as if I've made her my imaginary guardian angel or something. Partly that's because something about the way you talk about her makes her feel more real, too, somehow.

Heh, Amy's presence IS pretty dynamic ^^; I wouldn't be surprised if you feel like you know her already even if you never met her!

Blarphig?

Heh.XD

Maybe she's the sort of person determined enough to make her presence felt that her existence can reach through time and space, in a way.^^

x.x She's the kind of person who imprints herself on everything and everyone she touches. She's like a blessing and a curse all in one. She's just such a forceful presence, you know? I guess that could either be intimidating or comforting depending on how you meet/know her o.o

Yeah, I guess you either get a warm friendly welcome or a bonk on the head, and not much in between.XD

I honestly want to be something like that someday, and I think I have the potential to. Right now, though, I'm more focused on finding peace of my mind. I guess I'm thinking of myself as following a somewhat monk-like path more and more these days, what with my quasi-Bhuddist leanings.

Certainly not. I love company when I can get it, and you have the tendency to bring warm fuzzy feelings out in me.^^ I guess that hasn't changed since I was a kid and you were just a blob of pen, ink, and pixels.^_^

We are the cartoon heroes
We are the ones who're gonna last forever
We came out of a crazy mind
And walked out on a piece of paper

I don't think Absinthe is legal in America.

Date: 2009-11-11 01:16 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] flyboy-fox.livejournal.com
That's not true. It's just subject to different labelling specifics, and I think some regulations on the amount of thujone contained. But I'm pretty sure there's limits for most countries.

*Goes to check, because even though I researched it a fair bit before buying, I forget easily D:*

Wiki says:

"Absinthe is now legal in almost every country where alcohol is sold, albeit with different labelling requirements in USA and France. With the exception of those Middle East countries where alcohol is banned, Vanuatu (see below) and some South American countries, absinthe is legal in all countries. Absinthe can now be found in every country in Europe and North America, and in almost every country in Asia Pacific (the North Korean situation is not known)."

Hee... get some! Too bad you have to wait until 21. It seems such a late age to me, but then again maybe America has less teenage lager louts as a result? I dunno ^^;

From: [identity profile] chocomookielove.livejournal.com
Lol naw, not really, they're just easier to prosecute that way I guess?
I know that I could easily get some if I wanted to (I could probably give the money to my mom and have her buy me whatever kind of alcohol at any time, to be completely honest. As a surprisingly large amount of teenagers can also do and do do.)

But saving it for a specific date makes it more meaningful.
