Leave me a comment o' randomness; your favourite quote, the best sandwich in the world, a good song lyric, what colour pants you're wearing and I'll respond with five questions you can answer in your own LJ leaving with them an open invitation for other people to give you comments o' randomness. Then you can ask them questions and before you know it we'll all know everything about everyone - even if we've never met!

Mine (from [livejournal.com profile] bandazgeek):

1) You and Jei. How did you get together?

Ahahaha. We're one of the great success stories of online romance ;) To quote from a certain cult movie, "We met in a chatroom~". A role-playing chatroom on AOL (ick!) called 'Team Rocket Beach', to be exact. After two years of talking online and on the phone, we finally met 'for real' when I travelled to the USA to stay with her family for Christmas. It was an amazing beautiful white Christmas, too. After that, we visited each other about twice a year for the next seven or so years, including a six-week stay in America for me once. Then we made plans for University and Jei came here in 2008 to study. We lived in halls, different schools, for that year. Then this year we finally got a place of our own and we're living together for the first time. A month or so ago, I finally proposed to her and gave her a white gold, diamond and tanzanite ring, and she said yes, and the rest is history! :D

2) What made you first realize you were fic'kin?

I'm going to answer from the angle of first realizing I was 'kin, rather than finally getting my head around who. This was some time ago, possibly a bit before meeting Jei. She was actually looking for her soulmate/other half/fellow 'kin at the time, which is why we immediately hit it off. This was ten years ago, mind. What made me realize it, I'm not entirely sure... just a feeling, I suppose. Feelings that can very well be put down to many other things, too. I've never taken the concept of 'kin for granted. It's an explanation with many many weaknesses and holes in it. Besides, almost everyone experiences a sense of alienation and 'not belonging' as a child/teen, I think. Feeling a connection/likeness/relation to a fictional character is pretty common, too, especially when you're a young person struggling to find your identity in the world. I'll openly admit that there was a time when I wanted to be able to 'choose' my fic'kin identity and be someone cool, and I tried to convince myself at one point that I was Duo Maxwell from Gundam Wing XD In retrospect I find that hilarious. Wouldn't it be nice to 'be' your favourite fictional character just because you like them so much? But really, it's so much better to be WITH your favourite character ;) ::Hugs onto Jei:: Aieee...

3) Are you settling well into your apartment-house?

Oh yes! It's such a delightful little flat. It really feels like home. Posters on the wall, shelving and decorations all around, and of course a huuuuge pile of laundry to be done and dishes piled sky high in the sink XD

4) What are your thoughts on Twilight?

Can't stand it. ::Gag::

5) What's wrong with being 25 anyway?

Nothing, I suppose. I think my main issue with 'growing up' is that I lost a huge chunk of my childhood due to circumstance and, as a result, I missed out on the 'teenage years' that most people experience as a transition between childhood and adulthood. The years of my life between 14 and 18 kind of disappeared into a black abyss and so I've always craved a return to them, to do them properly. So every year that I move further away from those years, I feel like I'm losing my childhood forever and that I'll never get to experience those things. It's kind of daft; age shouldn't dictate what I do with my life. But I don't want to feel pushed to the fringes of, say, fandom just because I'm older than the average forum-dweller :P

OK NAO U :D
