I feel a little better now. I got really weird for a few days. After Fara died, I just kinda... died a little too, I guess. I didn't cry at all, which was strange. I hadn't cried once since it happened... not properly. Then today it just kinda all exploded. I blew up at Jei and acted like a total ass... then when I was done I just broke down and cried for a long time ^^; I think I must've needed it... 'though my eyes were so puffed up afterwards I could barely see :P But yeah, I feel better now. Lighter. Sometimes it's best to just cry and get it out of your system.

Wow... there's this one Sonic couples meme going around and _several_ people (yeah, more than one >.>) have answered some of the questions saying they really hate Sontails. Like it's the worst pairing ever and they detest it XD You guys are going on my blacklist!! ... just kidding :P

Flint The Time Detective is a really stupid animé :P I say that because I just spent the past half hour watching it after Beyblade: G-Revolution finished. Beyblade is pretty stupid too, but hey.

My issue with Sontails is twofold. One is the age difference--officially, Sonic's 15 or 16 and Tails is 8. Now, in a futurefic, I could deal with that. My other problem is their relationship... Sonic, at least to me, always seemed to be Tails' caretaker. If that's true--if Sonic is the caretaker of Tails--Sonic having a romantic/sexual relationship with Tails would be taking advantage of him. It would be wrong. In a world where Sonic is in no way responsible for Tails, once Tails came of age, I guess Sontails would be okay. Not quite my thing, but still okay.

Heh, it's fine, I don't actually care if people dislike Sontails. I was just being silly. But I understand your reasons... Personally, I could never support it either if Tails was only 8 years old (and Sonic sooo much older). It kinda depends which incarnations you follow. Those are the Sega ages, but other incarnations have Tails as 4 (AoStH), 10 (SatAM), and 14 (Fleetway)... so... there's scope right across the board.

I tend to write Tails as 12 or 13, and Sonic as 15 or 16. Not such a huge age difference. And I don't see it as Sonic taking advantage of Tails bevause I see them as best friends and equals, even if Sonic is the bolder braver more outgoing one. Also, I do see the ages as being different to how they would be in 'human' terms. After all, what preteen kid can build and pilot a jetplane anyway? The Sonic characters are more mature for their ages, more adult, then kids in our world would be at that age.

To simplify, I would NEVER think it's okay for a 12 year old boy and a 16 year old boy to have a relationship in our world, that would be taking advantage/bordering on abuse, but I'm okay with ut in the Sonicverse 'cause I see things differently there.

I do agree that maturity is a little different in Sonic--I'm pretty sure that the age of consent is 14 and majority is 16 there, as opposed to 16 and 18 respectively where I live. But I'm a prude. I'm even uncomfortable with Shadamy becuase, according to Sega, Amy's 12 and Shadow's .. well, even though he's 50, I consider him to be 17. He's actually probably more like 14 as far as maturity goes, so it's okay.

I also respect that fanfic doesn't always conform to societal norms--I have one fanfic idea that involves Shadow and Amy having a kid when she's 14, not because I paritcularly care about their relationship, but becuase I want to make a statement about the darkness of teh sonic world and about teenage pregnancy (a problem I'm unfortunately too familiar with; two of my childhood friends have become fathers and a few of my friends are mothers as well). I Just don't feel comfortable reading anything that deals with those topics with a focus on the relationship. if Sontails is the setup for something else, I can work with that, but I don't particularly want to read about Sonic and Tails being in luff. Tails crushing on Sonic is fine though, in my book. Hell, if you consider Tails themesong, it's virtually canon.
