For some reason, there are a disproportionate number of people at Bournemouth Uni and AIB named Alex (or some variant thereof). This is a little annoying. Jei knows at least two guys called Alex at AIB, and I've recently been chatting to a guy on my BU course called, you guessed it, Alex. No fair! Gimme back my individuality! I really should change my name legally to Jai :P
My course is good, but WTH Alice? x.x ALICE? Give me REAL programming any day. Alice 2.0 is to programming what Front Page Express is to web page design. Pre-packaged and spoon fed with no real element of personal input, just stock actions and gallery objects. I suppose it's probably a good intro for those who haven't messed around with object-oriented scripting before, but it's still laaaaame. At least my first Programming unit will be as easy as 3.14 :)
Aaand my flatmates are still rolling in at 3am and hollering in the corridor outside my room. As well as the usual crimes of leaving the sink piled to the ceiling with disgusting pots and pans, leaving rancid food in the refrigerator, neglecting to wipe up food spills, never taking out the trash, and basically filling the lounge area with the most incredible collection of beer bottles and lager cans the world has ever seen. Just getting a glass of water involves navigating a minefield of sticky floor patches, and then precariously attempting to move some of the clutter in the sink aside to reach the tap. Don't get me started on the fridge >.>
On the plus side, my cold FINALLY seems to be improving. No more sore throat, and finally the cough is starting to abate. I'm still tired though. Enough so that I actually fell asleep sitting on a couch in the Costa Café between lectures today, ha XD;; I woke up when I felt myself starting to drool. Fun times.
And finally... for the love of TFSM, wryyyy are my course's text books so frickin' expensive?! £42 is a RIP. £32 secondhand on Amazon isn't a whole lot better. Pfffff.
Okay, see ya later journal!
