The 8 Meme! (I was tagged :P So sue me)
Jan. 27th, 2008 08:20 pmHaha, Mel (
dia_aren_marie) tagged me with this a while ago and I never got around to doing it! So, here goes...
Each blogger starts with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
* Bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
* At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
Okay... let's see XD I always find these hard. I'm just not that interesting! But I'll try...
1) My username,
flyboy_fox, actually has nothing to do with Tails. It's much more a homage to Fox McCloud; Star Fox was my big obsession at the time of choosing a name. Fox McCloud is also behind the naming of my cat, Fox. My other cat, who died a couple years ago, was called Fara, in honor of Fara Phoenix, Fox's (comic-book) girlfriend.
2) I don't feel comfortable going out anywhere without a stash of mints. Usually polo-mints ("The Mint With The Holeā¢"). They're like a pocket-size rescue-kit for me. Even before I knew about the medical/health properties of mint (and mint oil), I always loved and relied on mint-based things to get me through anxiety times. I've always loved mint in general... mint tea... mint chocolate... LOVE mint choc-chip ice cream. But you will not find me anywhere outside of my house without a tube/packet/tin of mints in my pocket XD Go go mint power!
3) For a while, back in my early teens, I tenuously convinced myself that I was the reincarnation of Duo Maxwell from Gundam Wing. Go on, laugh your asses off, it's true XD;; I even picked up his American accent and the nickname "British Braidboy". I just really thought he was cool... he had the most awesome mecha, and that cocky grin and easy-going manner that I've always melted under. I wanted to be like him. So I talked myself into it. I was so young and impressionable... n.n;;
4) When I was little, I was so utterly terrified of thunderstorms that I would literally run and hide under my bed with my hands over my ears every time the weather game on the TV or radio. Just in case they mentioned a possible storm. I was petrified of that little cloud icon with the lightening bolt protruding from it. I can still picture that icon clear as day, even though the last time I saw it must have been ten or fifteen years ago. I'm certainly not that bad anymore, but Jei's still been witness to me freaking out over a bad storm and whimpering under the covers while she tells me it'll be over soon ^^;
5) I'm borderline phobic of throwing up. No one likes it, but with me I'm just really paranoid if I feel even the tiniest bit weird. So you can imagine that a week of medication-induced nausea wasn't a very happy experience for me :P I'm just paranoid in general. I tend to freak out over any slight change to my usual workings. I'm a little neurotic like that, yes XD
6) I was in theatre a lot when I was younger. The highlight of my youthful drama escapades was being the youngest kid cast in a production of Godspell at Wimbledon Theatre. I was part of the choir/dance ensemble, but I also got to play a tiger in the Noah's Ark scene. After that scene, I used to jump off the back of the stage, using the pole to swing from. This was not recommended. I soon found out why, after misjudging one time and falling off the back of the stage, spraining my ankle. The stagehands who carried me off had to clamp a hand over my mouth to keep me from wailing and disrupting the show ^^; I was only seven or eight at the time...
7) I can tell when I'm having a bad day when I can't do up the button on this one pair of jeans I have. It has nothing to do with them not fitting; they fit fine. But the button is a tight fit, and some days the slight muscle-weakness in my wrists is worse than others. On those days, I can't open bottles or jars and I can't do up that one darn button. It's not a big thing, but it can be slightly annoying at times when I have to ask random stranger to open my bottle of water for me ._. I'm not weak. I can carry heavier things than most people my height/weight. I just have muscle-weakness in certain joints, yeah.
8) I'm currently addicted to 'We <3 Katamari'. Especially that ultimate 17-minute stage where you have to roll the biggest katamari possible, rolling up trees, houses, towns, countries, continents... Roll it up!! ROLL EVERYTHING UP!! *Manic grin* Sometimes I think how cool it would be if real-life katamari existed. Then I think of the destruction and havoc it would wreak and think again ^^;
