~...even when I close my eyes~
May. 29th, 2007 07:18 pmI'm home.
The flight was fast o.o Less than 6 hours... and even though we were held up for almost an hour by a handful of passengers from a connecting flight, we still made it to Bristol a few minutes ahead of schedule n.n So, that was good. I didn't get to sleep on the plane at all, but I took a nap when I got home (11:30AM - 2:00PM) before I had to dash out to make my Jobseeker signing-in appointment n.n; I have £80 in now, so I should be able to cover my Visa expenses :) Also applied for two more jobs while I was there. Here's hoping!
My last day with Jei was pretty awesome XD We spent most of it on the couch playing stupid rough-and-tumble/playfight games (is your hand/wrist still sore, Jei-ji? XD) and doing syncronised arm-movements to her grandparents' awful smooth jazz music ^^;; We're just silly. OH!! And Jei's dad took me for a ride on the back of his Harley 'bike! AWESOME. I want a Harley ;_; And of course, we played Sonic Adventure 2: Battle on multiplayer - a last-day tradition. The stats on her game are roughly 170 to her and 113 to me. She's significantly better than me (which isn't surprising, given how RARELY I play videogames), but I'm still good enough to hold my own ^^
It was sad saying goodbye to Jei at the airport ;_; It always is... but it's worse for the person being left behind. At least I had the flight to focus on getting through. Jei-ji had to just go back home to the house with all the evidence of our togetherness in it. That part always sucks so much when she's the one visiting me. Ehh... oh, and of course, I left a couple things behind n.n; Some Lindt(?) truffles, a magazine, my terrorist bar of soap*... nothing hugely important though n.n; I brought a bunch of new stuff back with me though!
- About 20 Sonic the Hedgehog Archie comics.
- The full set of Topps Sonic 2 trading cards that Jei gave me (plus a handful of Sonic X trading and game cards).
- My case of Pokémon cards (heavy @_@), that I'd left there last time.
- My brand-new 3-in-1 dry erase calendar/memo/pinboard, YEAH!!
- Animal Crossing DS: Wild World (which I played a lot on the plane) and Pokémon Diamond (which I have yet to play).
- An AWESOME flight-jacket that Jei's sister Colby gave me :) It's a little small, but it'll look nice hanging in my wardrobe.
- A silk-screened t-shirt that Jei made for me with "Flyboy Fox" on it ^_^
- A good-luck penny that kept me safe on the flight o.o
- The book 'A Wrinkle in Time' that Jei's lending me.
- A whole ziplock bag of bottle caps, whoo!
- A couple of Jei's drawings/sketches that she's letting me keep
I think that's it? n.n;
* (On my way into the US of A, the metal pilot wings I wear around my neck set off the walk-through metal detector and I got ganked aside and roughly frisked XD; Then they decided there was an unusual looking object in my suitcase, showing up in the scanner, so they asked me a bunch of questions about what was in there. It was only clothes as far as I could recall, but they were convinced there was an oblong 'device' in there o.o So they made me open my suitcase and they rifled through my clothes until they found... dun dun dun... a bar of SOAP! XD; Then they took my passport away for a while and grilled me with more questions (and they roughly manhandled the little foxtails I had clipped onto my belt - guess they thought I was smuggling drugs in them? O.o), and finally and rather reluctantly they let me go >.>)
Nng... I'm so sleepy. Usually I don't get jetlagged... but then again, usually I fly Virgin or British Airways, not Continental x.o (#I can't get no sleep, no sleep, dear diary...#).
I want a mint choc-chip Gelati from Rita's ;_; Jei, it's time to play Rack-O! n.n ... oh, wait... ._. 5,000 miles away again... pfffttthhhh.
