I'd like to say a few quick things:

1) It's come to my attention that the post I made about buying rum at Tesco might have come across as offensive. I apologise unreservedly if anyone felt I was being racist. I can be dense sometimes. I certainly had no intention of being offensive, and I'm sorry.

2) I do not think that I am better than anyone. Despite all the 'fickin' stuff which probably has some of you scoffing at me in disgust, I honestly believe that I am a regular flawed not-particularly-strong person, and one who has made many many mistakes. I am not a genius, I am not an expert mechanic, I am not even a mature and/or well-grounded individual. I am just me. If I talk about 'being Tails', you can just humor me. I have never attempted to be anyone I'm not or act any particular way. I'm hoping that those who read my LJ can see that I certainly make no attempt to 'sound like' Tails x.o It goes without saying, but I am far from perfect and I do not believe myself to be anything special or unique at all.

3) In that same vein - I have done some very stupid things in my life, and I openly admit and regret them. Disability or not, there is no excuse for what I have put certain people in my life through. But at the same time, the people close to me CHOOSE to stay close. I don't believe that any of them only stay with me out of fear that I'll react badly if they leave me. I have some amazing people in my life and I love them with all my heart.

Okay, now that I've said what needed to be said (and thanks to the anon who got me thinking about all that - I feel much better now)...

Yesterday was a good day :) Jei bought me a scratch card and I won £10 on it! And she won £1 on the one I got for her the other day, so we can claim £11 next time we're in Tesco or a convenience store.

Also, the coolest thing happened! Barclays Bank was so apologetic for messing up Jei's international student account that they sent her two bottles of wine and a huuuge two-tier box of Thornton's chocolates! Neither of us drinks wine, so she said she'd like to give it to my mom, which was really sweet. But the chocolates, mmm...

I just wanna say that I'm proud of Jei. She's amazing. I just don't know what I'd do without her. Y'hear that, Jei? I love you n.n

I can see how that post may have come off that way, but I understood it to just be out of frustration. It's very frustrating when you walk into a store and the person working doesn't understand you, even if you slow down and annunciation.

I don't see how saying that you're Tails is saying that you're better than anyone. Tails is not, in any canon, flawless or infallible. If he were, I doubt he would spend as much time around Sonic as he does, trying to learn from him. He's also never been the type to want everyone to kiss his feet, unless we're talking about the evil mirror universe version.

It's also obvious to me, Jai, that when you "sound like Tails," that you aren't putting on an act. That's because you always do it, no matter how you feel or what you're talking about. It's obvious to me that it's not something you're trying to do, just something that...happens. You probably don't even fully realize you're doing it. I don't think that's because you've taken great care to hijack a fictional character's identity...I believe that you've just always been that character as long as you've been yourself. That the two are not mutually exclusive.

I'm glad that you're trying to curb your pride, Jai, as I know from experience that overactive pride can lead to great pain...But sometimes you take the whole modesty thing too far, to the point it becomes self-loathing. I know, because I've been there before. I spent most of last year recovering from the knowledge that I did, in fact, hate myself, and that assuming that everything was my fault wasn't getting me anywhere.

I know that it's hard for you to take Jei's praise of you seriously, Jai, considering how close to you she is...But on the other hand, you shouldn't take the words of some random troll, who can't even bother to capitalize words where appropriate, seriously. Someone who greats you with "When you fuck your girlfriend, do you cry out her name or Sonic's?" is not worth your time or effort.

As for the lack of capitalisation of letters... I assume that most trolls do that to hide any evidence of a recognisable typing style.

for example if i posted anonymously like this, blazey, people would be less likely to guess it's me, since i always use capitals where they should be :P

the problem here being that according to her profile, "Jai" is 24. Tails did not exist until the early 90s (let's say 1992, though he was in development for some time before then). that's a difference of eight years.

3. jesus christ nothing is more insulting than "LOOK AT ME AND LET ME DO WHAT I WANT AND FORGIVE ME FOR IT, I'M DISABLED". no. sorry. do you guys want to be treated equally, or do you guys want special dispensation constantly? make a choice. there's a difference between making every man be able to go shopping with dignity by installing a ramp or maintaining composure when someone with, say, cerebral palsy walks past, and giving a hysterical moron a wide berth to fuck off everybody else "because I'm disabled". saying "disability or not" is just bullshit, as if you genuinely believed that, you wouldn't have said it in the first place.
