There's a topic in
sonic_stuff relating to that part in Carnival Night Zone with the barrels. The part where you can jump jump jump on the barrels for ten million years until the timer runs out, and still get nowhere x.o I remember Jei and I being stuck there for aaaages... we tried everything! Timing the jumps, spindashing, even having Tails fly Sonic right up and drop him in the hopes that the momentum would push the barrel down far enough. Needless to say we felt kinda silly when we eventually found out that all you have to do is press up/down corresponding to the movement of the barrel @_@ So... the sonic_stuff topic brought back good memories n.n; Well... frustrating memories, but good anyway. Somehow Tails would always be able to get through and Sonic would be left stranded XD We had a lot of fun playing on her MegaDrive... it's what first really started to get me into Sonic two years ago. For that I am extremely thankful ^^
Jei's parcel arrived today! She sent me a Sonic t-shirt and a Sonic-themed issue of GamePro magazine ^_^ There's a huuuuge article focussing on the Next Gen Sonic game and the history of the Sonic franchise, and also a single-page article on Sonic Riders. Plus (irrelevent but still cool) there's a pretty big Teen Titans article too. Neat! As for the t-shirt, the story behind that is pretty cool. Jei was flipping through a clothing catalogue when she saw one of the models was sporting a Sonic t-shirt! :D It wasn't for sale in the magazine (the pic was only advertising the pants, not the top), but she scanned in the pic and sent it to me, and I emailed the company asking about the shirt. They got back to me and said it wasn't for mail-order sale, but they'd be releasing some of them into the shops soon... and lo-and-behold, Jei went to check it out and there it was! It was the last one in the store, and it's pretty big (size Large), but it's an awesome shirt ^^ I had Jei wear it before she sent it to me... closest thing to having her send me an actual hug ;_; Damn I miss her sometimes... well... always, really :\ I hope I'll have some money soon so I can visit her before the end of the year.
I read Geisha of Gion last night. The whole thing in one sitting, beginning to end. I don't read often anymore, but when I do, I devour books :P I can't put them down 'til they're done. It was a pretty good book... an actual true-life account rather than a fictional one. Very interesting. The whole geisha thing is fascinating to me. I guess I have at least four or five books about them already, as well as a couple of oriental kimono-clad doll-figurines. I love kimono and haori and all the traditional Japanese dress. I'd love to own a haori (Japanese formal silk jacket) with a dragon print on the back ^^ Maybe something in brown and gold... mn, yeah. That would be awesome. Something like the ones on this page. Maybe some day I'll own one ^_^
Guess that's it for now. Bye!
