~All right now, baby, it's all right now~
Jan. 15th, 2009 09:55 amI really need to de-scale the kettle in my dorm. My mom says white vinegar is really effective, and it's cheaper than specific de-scaler tablets, so I guess I'll pick some up from ASDA next time I'm there and do that. My room will smell of vinegar for a few hours, but hey. I think that's a small price to pay for being able to drink my (de-caff) tea without crunchy bits at the bottom D:
Friday 30th Jan simply CAN'T come quickly enough. I know it's only 2 weeks away, but SHEESH. Could the time GO any slower?! I've never had a tattoo done before, but strangely I'm not at all nervous. I'm just incredibly excited and happy about it. The tattooist said that it'll probably take about two hours, maybe a little more. It's pretty big - takes up most of my lower back. It's going to set me back at least £120 (including the £40 deposit I've already paid), but it'll be so worth it. Hurry up, tiiiime! ^^
As for today; in about 45 minutes I'm off to see Sue, who's my mentor at Uni. Hopefully with her help, and Ruthi (my ALN advisor) tomorrow, I'll finally be able to get my course back on track. I'm hoping that I can switch over to Interactive Media Production this term, rather than having to wait another whole year to reapply, but we'll see.
I'm two weeks into this strict dairy/gluten-free diet and it's actually coming along easier than I thought. There's still plenty of stuff that I can eat, and I've actually managed to cook up some pretty tasty meals. I'm pretty sure that it's already having a positive impact on my health, too. I'm pondering whether I should buy some bathroom scales so that I can actively measure my progress, weight-wise, but I'm not sure whether that would end up being more of a deterrent than anything else. It doesn't really matter, I guess, 'cause I don't actually need to lose weight. I'd just like to lose a little, just to get myself really nice and fit, y'know? Also, if I keep up exercising (yay step-machine!), I could tone up some muscle too, which might not decrease my mass any, but I'd be more toned :P I'm sure friends mean well when they tell me I don't need to diet or lose weight because I'm already slim, but I really do want to shape up a little and besides, that's not even really the main point of this 'diet'. It's an overall health thing. I would just feel better. I don't need a perfect body, but I know I can be better than this.
Well, I'd better get going. See ya later LJ et al! Bye~ee! :)
