Home, sweet-- Zzz X.x
Mar. 4th, 2007 01:34 pmThis morning I woke up for the first time in my new room in the new house after the 'big move' yesterday. Well, we're moved in! It's nice to have a 'proper' house again after 6 months in that tiny apartment, although I do think I'll miss that sea view, and seeing the land silhouette of "Way-als" across the bay. However, I do have a very nice view across the fields and farmland from my bedroom.
I'm tired. I won't lie; I am very VERY tired. I haven't slept well in days, and we've just been so busy rushing back and forth, packing, unpacking, setting stuff up... I seem to have a propensity towards DIY, though. And a 'magic touch' with electricals, as my mom says. For example, the removals guy who was helping my mom install the washing machine 'fused' the thing, but he couldn't get the fuse out to try changing it. He kinda had a O.o expression when I took the 13 amp fuse out, took a 3 amp from one of my mom's lamps, replaced it, tested it, then put the 13 amp back and it worked again. Come to think of it, I'm not exactly sure I knew what I was doing anyway, but hey, it worked XD
As for the DIY part, I found I quite enjoy putting things back together. The removals guys managed to totally crush one of the flimsy little draws from the TV-trolley, but I happily fixed it with a screwdriver set from a Christmas cracker ^^; I also put my bed back together which was fun... Admittedly, I put the headboard and foot on backwards and then had to redo the whole thing, but we shall not speak of that. I was tired :P It was an excusable mistake!
Because my room is the biggest, 99% of the storage boxes seem to have gravitated here >.> I had to move 'em out so I get get to my stuff, which was annoying. Especially since my pillow and duvet were hiding in boxes right at the bottom of the pyramid ;_;
I am covered in bruises, and I ache everywhere. My neck, my back, my legs... I am one giant pain. (Hush). I also slept baaaadly last night n.n; I'm having a lot of nightmares lately, but I suppose it comes down to tiredness and the stress of moving into a new place. However, there's one theme that I keep dreaming about lately which is this. It can take place in different settings, but the premise is always that I'm in a place that's infested with people carrying some sort of contagious attribute, and I have to avoid becoming infected. Not long ago, I had one which was like a real-life version of 'the werewolf game'. I was in a forest and I came to a village where, by day, the people were perfectly normal... but at night, they turned into bloodthirsty night-creatures who wanted nothing more than to drain me dry ^^; Last night was an entirely different setting (a slightly futuristic city), and a slightly different story... but the same premise. This time, there was some sort of rampant infection spreading, causing those afflicted to become 'evil' I suppose. Those who were afflicted had no mind of their own and would attack without care, contaminating anyone who had contact. The scary thing was that it was almost impossible to tell who was afflicted until you got close. There were some people who were 'normal', but often you'd find that someone who was normal was in fact infected and they'd suddenly lunge at you. Also, a lot of the people in the city were like statues, standing in place, slightly slumped... only moving to lunge at you if you approached. At one point I was on a bus, then later in a library... the dream went on for a long time and was really quite frightening. Then again, any dreams where you are hunted and can't trust anybody are frightening. I'm hoping for better sleep tonight n.n;
One thing that's annoying about my room is that it's coooold n.n; It's such a big room that the measly little radiator does next to nothing in heating it. I'm wearing 5 layers right now (thermal vest, long-sleeved shirt, t-shirt, body-warmer sleeveless jacket, long sleeved thick fleece jacket) and I'm STILL freezing ^^; I mean, it's not really THAT cold out... it's 10C/49F, which is chilly but not frigid... but I'm cold, dammit! ;_; ... then again, it'll be nice having such a large airy well-ventilated room in the summer when the sun-scorch kicks in.
The front of my room (armchair, couch, TV, games consoles):

The back (desk, bed, wardrobe/drawers etc):

You'll have to excuse the mess :P Obviously I am still in the preliminary stages of unpacking.
Ugh. I'm just in a bad mood today. Frazzled, tired, sore, and I feel like I'll snap at anyone who so much as slightly patronises me. I wanna go to sleep for 1,000 years. Still so much to do, though. Best get started x.o ::yawn::
Final note: 'Let The Speed Amend It' is one of my ALL-TIME favorite Sonic tracks ^^ Attitude plus Arabian rifts equals QUALITY ^_^
