My mum has cancer. Both lumps in her breast are cancerous and there's a third in her other breast that hadn't been found until now that seems like it might potentially be cancerous too. She won't find out about what type it is until Monday week, but she'll be definitely having surgery some time in July.

I'm worried, of course, but I can't think the worst or break down. Some uplifting, hopeful or inspirational input would be great right now, however.

Those of you attending SoS, have a great time. I'm sorry that I won't get to say hi to you this year. I'll watch in on the livestream if I get a chance <3

It's a good thing they found them this time, though! If she's been having regular check-ups, hopefully, it isn't in an advanced state or anything and she'll be cured in no time! ^_^

My heart is breaking for you. My MIL had breast cancer and she's fighting several other cancers even now.

Breast cancer has a pretty damned good survival rate, at this point.

I'm not sure what else to say but that we'll be pulling for her.

Thank you (: I know the prognosis is usually not too grim for breast cancer these days, so I'm trying my best to stay optimistic despite how scared I am.

Its good she was able to have the lumps found. It sounds like she has a good chance of recovery once the lumps are removed? You're a really good kid for staying by her side and supporting her. You're a stronger person than you make yourself out to be.

Thank you. We don't know yet if she'll have to have a full mastectomy or just a lumpectomy, or whether she'll have radio or chemo or what.... but no matter what it is, I have faith that she'll pull through. She's very strong (:

Like others have said, the pull-through rate on this sort of thing is good, and especially if it's caught early. I'm sure she'll be fine. :)

Jai, I can't imagine how this must feel...all I can offer are my words and prayers. Reflecting what the others have said, I'll be keeping you and your mother in my thoughts. Your mother didn't deserve this, and I'm so sorry it had to happen...but I know you'll be there for her. I know it sounds cliche, but be strong. I'm rooting hard for you two. Take care. <3

I'm so sorry :( there are no words for what you or your mother must be going through right now. I guess the best you can do is try to be as positive as possible and be there for your mother as much as you can, which I'm sure you're doing. Send her my love and I'll keep you guys in my prayers.

I have been away for about two weeks since I've read your last post. I am so sorry to read this update about your mom. I will pray for you both to have the strength to get through this journey. Stay strong.
