Don't ask me, I usually screw with tongue injuries with my teeth and then groan about it for the next few days when it just gets worse.

Unless, of course, you're also asking what not to do, in which case, read above.

Ice usually helps with the pain for swelling. Stick some broke up ice in there and swirl it about as much as possible.

Nitch: Stick to brown sauce, Koji.

I'd second the ice thing...

I'm not entirely sure, but ice cream might be helpful as well, if you have any...

Maybe just...anything cold really that you can stand putting in your mouth, even if it's just water.

I noticed you like to suggest ice cream whenever possible. Or am I just dopin'?

While this is only the second time I can remember suggesting ice cream to someone...It's still a pretty trippy deja vu moment considering I completely forgot I suggested an ice cream remedy until you mentioned it...Then it came back clear as a bell.O_o

Avoid acidic or spicy foods. Try to go for colder things. Eat in small amounts, rather than larger meals farther apart. Eat things that don't require too much chewing, take small bites and don't use your tongue more than you have to. Keep your tongue relaxed when not eating.
